SUMMARY

This position is responsible for verifying and collecting game cards, paying prizes to sales associates, reconciling banks, and balancing all money and paperwork.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collect, separate, issue, and receive all bingo banks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Issue and receive all papers to and from sale associates.
  • Pay all prize money won during the session, and keep track of all winning cards and numbers of winners.
  • Balance all money and paperwork.
  • Work with supervisor after session to ensure that all money and papers are accounted for, typically being the first to arrive and last to leave bingo hall.
  • Willingness to cross-train and provide support in related areas of operations.
  • Other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.

OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have excellent customer service and communication skills both verbal and written. Must be a team player with a positive attitude. Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Must possess the ability to work with various personalities while maintaining impartiality. Must respond to supervisory guidance and assignments and accept constructive criticisms in order to learn new, updated information. The needs for quickness and ease of adjustment to the work environment and flexibility to change are essential in this position.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to move fast for long periods without tiring easily. Will be required to carry up to 40 lbs. and be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. May also be required to climb a ladder, reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, and lift on occasion.


TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to deal with difficult people without losing perspective. Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines.


WORKING CONDITIONS

At The Crowne Plaza Perimeter at Ravinia we are located just two blocks from the Marta Dunwoody station and across the street from Perimeter Mall. The hotel has 495 guestrooms, 32,000 square feet of meeting space, and three distinct Food and Beverage outlets for our guests to enjoy inspired by Kimpton. The hotel is the flagship of the Crowne Plaza Brand.

Day to day

Collect, audit and verify all information necessary to process payroll for the hotel and facilitate related processes.

Perform other payroll-related duties as needed, such as returning unclaimed paychecks, preparing human resources or accounting documentation or reports on payroll-related statistics, ensuring checks are distributed in a secure and timely manner, etc.

● Troubleshoot payroll problems/issues for employees as requested. Coordinate resolution with IHG Corporate office or payroll vendor as appropriate.

● Prepare manual checks or advance payment requests as needed or required.

● Enter and/or post employee information, including benefit deductions, new hires and terminations, garnishments, child support payments, direct deposit information, etc. into payroll and/or timekeeping system in a timely manner.

● Maintain orderly filing systems for all payroll supportive documentation and payroll reports. Maintain confidentiality of payroll information regarding past and present employees, and adequately safeguard payroll files.

● May assist with other duties as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in an accounting or position or similar; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Ability to speak fluent English required.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

● Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds

● Standing up and moving about the front office or other designated areas

What You'll Do


In this role, you have some of the most important responsibilities, making sure everyone at Kimpton gets paid! You'll be responsible for preparing, processing, and recording accounts payable and cash disbursements as well as processing payroll through Vantage Payroll System. In addition, you'll assist the Director of Finance with reports, financial audits, and other projects.


Some of your responsibilities include:


  • Answering telephone inquiries in a friendly, efficient manner while promoting a positive image.
  • Process and record invoices.
  • Prepare, process, and record accounts payable and cash disbursements.
  • Review vendor statements and follow-up on account balances.
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
  • Process payroll through Vantage Payroll System.
  • Prepare and verify all payroll data is accurate.
  • Process new hires through the Vantage System verifying all items are accurate.
  • Assist in preparing the G/L for financial reports.
  • Assist in the balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Post accounts to the general ledger for payroll.
  • Assist Director of Finance with financial audit.
  • Other duties may be assigned, at Kimpton we all wear multiple hats at times!



What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to optimally present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to seek practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Excel and working knowledge of PeopleSoft.
