Under general supervision, responsible for producing accurate and timely weekly and biweekly compensation to employees while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations governing employment, hours worked, payment of and deductions from wages as well as garnishment and tax authorities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reviews, reconciles, audits, and corrects HRIS system activity for accuracy and compliance to regulatory and company policies to ensure employee data is updated correctly for the calculation of wages and appropriate deductions.

Validates appropriate changes were made via the HRIS and Payroll interface and takes corrective action when needed.

Completes regulatory tax setup and other employee data changes not administered by HR and Benefits.

Updates payroll records by entering timesheets, payroll and status authorization forms, salary continuance, loans, direct deposits, tax information, severance, Cobra, worker's comp, savings bonds, voluntary deductions, bonus payments, and tuition refund payments.

Reviews, posts, inputs, and reconciles all PTO, and salary continuance days.

Coordinates, reconciles and manages the utilization of Short Term Disability payments between employees, managers, Benefits and the third party administrator.

Responsible for ascertaining each employee's eligibility to receive such payments and the correct percentages to calculate the accurate and timely payment of salary continuance for the minimal disruption to the employee and manager.

Maintains individual logs for each affected employee.

Balancing of gross payroll calculation to the expected gross pay prior to accepting the payroll. Prepares various reports for management by compiling summaries of earnings, withholding taxes, voluntary deductions, disability payments and non-taxable wages.

Responsible for providing accurate and timely payroll information to management and responding to employee inquiries and regulatory requests while adhering to established confidentiality policies.

Responsible for the setup, calculation, regulatory reporting, and compliance for all Child Support, Federal and State Tax Levies, Garnishments, Bankruptcy and Wage Assignment Orders.

Provides response to regulatory agencies (i.e. Child support Enforcement, State) as well as provides accurate payroll information to appropriate inhouse management, court ordered subpoenas and child support orders

Monitors State regulatory changes to ensure the timely compliance with tax changes and termination payment due dates.

Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and preparing adjustments, corrections and/or manual checks or wire payments.

Determines payroll liabilities and regulatory compliance by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and worker's compensation payments.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
