    Job Description Our client, a fast-growing commercial HVAC general contractor located near the Cumblerland Mall is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their wonderful team. This position will be performed at our client's office and the normal work hours are 7am to 4pm. A little flexibility can be allowed on the work hours if needed. This is a critical position for this organization. It is a full cycle and full scope payroll position, so significant payroll experience is required. In addition to weekly payroll, you will also be responsible for onboarding and offboarding employees. If you have not yet had the opportunity to work with union payroll, this will be a great opportunity for you to learn those nuances as well. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES will include: • Execute onboarding and offboarding processes (new hire set up and reporting, I-9 tracking, E-Verify, background checks, drug screens, MVR's, etc.) • Assist with timekeeping as needed (BuildTime system, Sharepoint Time Entry and manual processes) • Process weekly payroll (in-house using their system) • Prepare payroll remittances (Federal/state payments, 401k payments, etc.) • Assist with reconciliation of payroll related GL accounts as needed • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual payroll filings as required by federal, state and/or union jurisdictions (union reporting, certified payroll, Form 940/941, unemployment filings, OCIP/CCIP reporting, etc.) • Submit payroll reporting for OCIP/CCIP insurance and certified payroll jobs • Prepare yearend tax forms (W-2s, 1095-Cs, etc.) • Assist with gathering information for annual payroll/benefit audits • Complete employment verifications upon request • Provide support for active employees as needed (accessing pay stubs, general payroll questions, etc.) • Crosstrain with other accounting staff for additional support CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: • 4+ years of Payroll experience; union payroll experience is a plus • Strong work ethic and ability to solve problems • Detail oriented, reliable and trustworthy • Professional and positive attitude • Proficient in Excel and Word; Experience with a construction software is a plus • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to self-direct as appropriate • Understanding of basic payroll principles, including both the urgency and confidentiality of payroll matters • Ability to interact and communicate with peers, employees, customers and vendors in a professional and friendly manner • Ability to work independently with emphasis on efficiency, accuracy and timeliness • Clean background check and drug screen COMPENSATION: Base salary of $70,000 plus the opportunity to participate in an end of year bonus.
