CNC Lathe Machinist/Operator
About the role:
The CNC Machinist/Operator role requires a determined individual interested in helping our business grow by promoting a culture of teamwork, dedication and superior customer care. What you'll do:
Program CNC lathe/router for a variety of part construction and geometry
Select cutting tools, tool paths, cutting speeds and feed rates appropriate for each job
Assist in the training of CNC operators
Work with CNC operators to validate NC programs
Specify and implement product and process improvement
Produce drawings for internal and external production
Plan machining by studying work orders, production paperwork, materials, specifications, dimensions and tolerances
Evaluate programs for machine equipment by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Process each order per order/customer specifications
Verify accuracy of parts by adhering to inspection process set by management
Maintain specifications by observing and taking measurements using tape measures and micrometers; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Complete preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying warehouse lead and/or calling for repairs
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting/communicating actions, irregularities, and needs
Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need:
CAD drawing experience
CNC router experience
Ability to calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
Experience with Haas or Lynx CNC Lathes a plus
Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
Follow all safety procedures
High level of honesty and integrity
Must be 18 years or older
Must pass a background investigation as part of the selection process
Must pass the drug test as part of the selection process
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.

Mechanical ability and manual dexterity to be able to perform all required duties with relative ease. Ability to occasionally cope with mental/visual strain associated with some precision jobs.
Physical stamina for standing during working hours and to safely handle all parts and accessories typical to machine shop operation.
Working Conditions:
Normal Machine Shop environment with moderate temperature changes, medium to high noise levels and the hazards associated with a Machine Shop such as rotating cutting tools and workpieces, flying chips, coolant fumes, handing of parts with burrs and sharp edges. Such hazards require strict adherence to safety guidelines and use of protective devices such as safety glasses.

Responsibilities
Work from routed instructions, manufacturing process plans, blue prints and verbal instructions under moderate supervision.
Plan and make set-ups using needed tools for the CNC program per the set-up sheet.
Use a variety of hand held measuring instruments.
May write programs at the machine.
Download and upload programs at the machine.
Completes accompanying routers as operations are successfully finished before moving.
Qualifications
High school career machine trades program is preferred.
G&M coding experience.
Ability to read blue prints and working knowledge of GD&T.
Mechanical and spatial aptitude.
Must have own tools.

Responsibilities:
Interpret blueprints and job instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, CNC machines, and other equipment using appropriate tools and materials.
Input and edit CNC control data; monitor operations and adjust settings to maintain quality and precision.
Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools; rework non-conforming parts to meet specifications.
Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
Maintain accurate documentation and perform data entry to track part locations and production status.
Follow ISO procedures and safety protocols, including PPE use and hoist inspections; uphold 5S standards.
Participate in team communications, improvement initiatives, and company meetings; perform other assigned duties.
Operates with the close attention to detail required to meet print specifications, down to 0.0002in tolerances.
Requirements:
