    Job Purpose: Under the direct supervision of the site Medical Director, the Family Medicine Physician provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex within scope of training. Services include: Preventative care, immunizations, primary care and treatment, health education, prescribing of medications, ordering and interpreting lab testing, physical examinations, STD screenings, Vision/hearing, women's health, prenatal services, and nutrition. Occasional evening and Saturday shifts. Available to travel to clinics upon short notice upon urgent situations to serve our patients in the Chicago, Berwyn, Oak Park and Melrose Park communities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide diagnostic assessment and treatment services to patients. * Determine the need for medical examination and treatment of the patients. * Maintain appropriate recordings of progress notes, medication reviews, and dispositions for patient progress. * Participates when appropriate in the resolution of patient complaints and other problems resulting from the delivery of specific medical services. * Identifies patients who require specialized care and intervention. * Assesses and directs patient to appropriate healthcare providers in response to their needs. * Advises, counsels, and/or intervenes with internal/external healthcare providers and consumers regarding patient care, clinical issues, administrative/programmatic issues and staff support. * Counsels patients and families on illness adaptation and therapeutic plan of care. * Instructs and leads staff in direct patient care. * Acts as a resource for staff regarding standards, quality of care and patient education materials. * Maintains current knowledge and competency in area of specialization and in professional practice. Attends relevant conferences and workshops and participates in professional organizations. Participates in divisional/departmental committees and task forces. * Represents PCC when appropriate to the local community, to other health care agencies and to the broader community of health care providers. Qualifications Experience/Training: * Board Certified Medical Diploma (MD or DO) * Knowledge of standards of current and progressive medical practice. * Knowledge of medical theory and practice as related to assigned clinical or service area. Certifications/Licenses: * Current Medical License to practice in the State of Illinois. * CPR Certification * NRP Certification (inpatient OB or pediatric providers) Physical Demands: * Ability to stand, bend and stretch. * Ability to travel and maneuver between site locations if needed. * Ability to lift 10 pounds. * Ability to type for long periods of time. Language Skills: * Ability to read and write proficiently using the English language, Spanish speaking strongly desired. * Ability to interact and speak effectively in interpersonal situations.
