Responsibilities
Oversees and reports on schedules for multiple smaller projects or one larger, complex project.
Active in schedule development, construction planning process and project pursuits in collaboration with the superintendent and project manager.

* Understand the project execution plan and coordinate QA/QC procedures at appropriate stages of the work, in line with the project schedule.

Commissioning schedule should include thorough and sequenced plan of Level 3 through Level 5 activities and minimize overlap of Level 4 activities.
* Collaborate with Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment vendors for efficient installations and provide feedback to client and QC Managers.
* Manage equipment vendors adherence to QC plan and provide appropriate resources, field documentation, and checklists prior to start-up (Energization). Establish checkpoints to ensure documentation and installation quality prior to moving to next phase of Commissioning.

Qualifications:

Here's how a Field Engineer Intern contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
* Assists Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents
* Conducts safety audits and quality audits
* Reads and understands drawings and specifications
* Logs submittals and process RFI's
* Assists with surveying and project layout
* Maintains and updates field drawings, field equipment and records
* Assists with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field staff
* Attends relevant project meetings
* Prepares memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
* Assists with project documentation requirements
* Assists with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
* Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry (e.g. construction management, construction engineering, construction technology, etc.)
* Desire to pursue a career in construction project management, field supervision, or estimating.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
* Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to travel to and from the job site
* Able to work full time from May to August in MN, ND, or other states where our construction projects are located (a monthly housing allowance will be provided to selected candidates who are working in an area different from their residence)
* Able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis, climb ladders and stairs
* Based on client requirements, candidates may be required to complete a criminal background check
* Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party

General Job Description:
Assembles and disassembles, erects and repairs boilers, tanks, vats, pressure vessels, exchangers and heaters according to blueprint specifications.
Functional Requirements:
Locates and marks reference points for columns and plates on foundation; attaches rigging or signals crane operator to lift parts to specified position; aligns structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame, tanks or vats; hammers, flame-cuts, files or grinds irregular edges of sections or structural parts to facilitate fitting edges together; bolts structures and sections together; positions drums and headers into supports or bolts supports to frame; aligns water tubes and connects and expands tube ends to drums and headers; bolts casing sections, uptakes, stacks, baffles and such fabricated parts as chutes, air heaters, fan stands, feeding tube, catwalks, ladders, coal hoppers and safety hatch to frame; installs trays in process towers; installs manholes, valves, gauges and feedwater connection in drums to complete assembly of water tube boilers; assists in testing assembled vessels.
Qualification Standards:
• High school or equivalent
• One to four years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
