Roles & Responsibilities
Realize Client Objectives. The A/V Sales Engineer reviews the prospects needs and wants for the product/services offered and works with the Senior Sales Engineer, System Engineers and the Sales team to develop the right solution.
Gathers relevant site details in order to create the scope of work including equipment and labor estimate.
Review and interpret project bid specifications.
Conduct site-walks with team.
Support the Company Growth. The A/V Sales Engineer provides accurate and timely project estimates/quotes to the sales team that support the detailed scopes of work outlined in Sales Proposals, RFIs, RFPs etc.
Review & edit detailed scopes of work & product details in Sales Proposals
Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs)
Create requests for information (RFIs)
Review product estimate and system design with sales department and other key internal resources.
Increase Profit Margin. The Estimator levels vendor quotes and negotiates costs to increase profit margins, as well as identifies missing components in the scope of work to avoid additional project costs and reduced margins after the project is sold.
Documentingequipment needed and labor time required for each project
Gather information to determine proper system components from internal and vendor resources
Build vendor relationships and negotiate quotes.
Exceed Client Expectations. The A/V Sales Engineer assists with the management of the quote calendar and prioritize accordingly to ensure that the sales team can meet RFP deadlines.
Desired Skills and Experience
Disciplined work ethic
Must know how to read construction drawings and do device take offs
Excellent communication and writing skills
Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
CAD and Tigerpaw experience a plus.
College Degree
2 5 years technical experience with electronic security, IT and/or low voltage systems.
Prior field based installation or project management experience is a plus.
Must be authorized to work in the US.

Realize Client Objectives. As a POM Service Sales Executive, you will identify prospects needs and wants for the services offered including contracts and remote services.
Communicate the Vision. As a POM Service Sales Executive you will provide timely and effective presentations to prospective customers that highlight the value of partnering with POM for service contract opportunities.
Drive Strategic Business Growth. As a POM Service Sales Executive you will develop and maintain a lead generation and prospecting plan through the use of social selling, networking, referrals, cold contact, and inbound marketing efforts. Work with POM Leadership Team to create and implement new recurring revenue products and services. Cultivate customer relationships, deliver effective proposals, and negotiate complex multi-year contracts.
Exceed Client Expectations. Coordinate with the operations department to ensure the customers requirements are exceeded and fully understood by the project management. Design/Build Growth- Drive design growth to owners reps, brokers, and architects

Drafting & Documentation
Prepare and update AutoCAD/Revit drawings, riser diagrams, floor plans, and detail sheets for low-voltage systems.

Maintain drawing standards, templates, and project documentation libraries.
Project Support
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to translate design concepts and field markups into precise drawings.

Coordination & Communication

Verify any unused material is returned to company warehouse
Verify all tools and equipment issued to project/job are returned to company warehouse.
Conduct final site labor and material reconciliation review.
Prepare client billing and invoice with contracts and project documentation.
Reconcile actual site construction work with subcontractor invoice.
Exceed the Clients Expectations The Project Manager provides the client with daily / weekly project status updates, and insures that the project deliverables are complete and accurate, including preparation of As Built / Redline Drawings.

5 + years of Project Management Experience.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Support

35 years of experience in system design, sales engineering, or technical sales within the AV, Security, or Telecom industry.
Strong knowledge of Division 27/28 standards, industry codes, and integration best practices.
Proficiency with design and estimating tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, D-Tools, or similar platforms.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Vendor & Subcontractor Management

Qualifications:

Position Overview
The Sales Engineer supports the sales and estimating process by providing technical expertise, system design guidance, and solution development for commercial low-voltage projects-including Audio Visual (AV), Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intercom), and Telecom infrastructure systems. Working closely with the sales team, this role bridges client needs and engineered solutions to ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with customer expectations.
Sales Engineers partner with Sales to translate technical requirements into clear, value-driven solutions that meet both client goals and operational capabilities. Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Support
Participate in client meetings, site surveys, and needs assessments to identify technical and operational requirements.
