**Job Summary**
Assists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, using skills and knowledge in basic nursingassistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
**Details of the Position**
+ Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure.
+ Perform basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
+ Assist patient with personal care which may include: bathing; mouth and skin care; grooming and dressing; toileting assistance; eating and hydration.
+ Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
+ Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
+ Documents relevant patient care data
+ May provide clerical support to the unit; doing order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

The specialty supports both pulmonology and sleep. Day-to-day basic overview includes rooming, paperwork, in-basket, and scrubbing / prepping charts for sleep patients including downloading CPAP data for sleep patient visits.
We work with a strong team of providers who are willing to teach and share their education on complex conditions, including hosting educational sessions to review certain diagnoses throughout the year.
This position has the potential, for interested caregivers, to do some additional training, cross-coverage and education on procedures such as setting up, hosting appointments, downloading data, and cleaning home sleep study units with training from our skilled sleep technician, as well as learning from our skilled respiratory therapist team to perform walking oximetry, nocturnal oximetry setup, appointments and downloads, as well as performing basic pulmonary function testing such as spirometry with flow volume loop.

**Job Summary**
In collaboration with the healthcare team, assists physicians/providers in the delivery of patient care working within the scope of practice for a MedicalAssistant.
**Essential Functions**
+ Prepares patients for examination and treatment or anesthesia interview as applicable. Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable.
+ Prepares exam and/or treatment rooms; selects, setup and maintains medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and/or anesthesia interview as applicable.
+ Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders.
+ Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
+ May transport specimens.
+ May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.
+ May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
+ May provide phone screening of the patient to appropriate clinical staff and/or physician.
+ Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.

+ Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
+ Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
+ Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
