Details of the position:
* Performs all routine and specialized CT procedures by integrating medical knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.
* Perform most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
* Operates CT scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction, and documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
* Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self, patient, and visitor. Evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated.
* Performs interventional procedures applying knowledge of equipment, supplies, and AORN standards.
* Performs other patient care activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers' scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration.

IMAGING: Provides quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.
Competency in the field of CT.
Positions patient for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.
Operates imaging equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.
Uses computer image processing to select and optimize images.
Processes and presents images and related patient information to radiologist for diagnosis.
Assists with patient transport by moving patients using standard procedures.

Identifies patient by checking patient's I.D., full name and medical record number according to department procedure.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must be ABR board certifying eligible after passing the ABR Core Exam and successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency.
