The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Cares for the Cardio-Pulmonary needs of all assigned patients, from those who are undergoing routine diagnostic procedures to those requiring more complex critical care support, intervention, and transport support, as applicable to care setting. The work requires a team focus working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team aimed toward the best outcome for the patient and organization.
Details of the position:
* Provides respiratory care to include diagnostic testing, oxygen and medication delivery, bronchial hygiene, arterial/capillary blood gas draw and analysis, advanced airway, and life support.
* Patient assessment including the ability to monitor labs, hemodynamics, and radiology findings. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual patient care appropriate to the age of the patients.
* Calibrates, cleans, sets up, maintains, and troubleshoots all patient related equipment and instruments. Assembles and stores cleaned equipment.
* Participates in in-house educational in-services inter and intradepartmental as well as attending outside seminars and workshops, as requested by Manager.
* Participates in various intermittent department tasks including, but not limited to, audits, quality assurance, statistical record keeping, patient charting and other special projects as specified by Manager.
* May act as a member of trauma, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and rapid response teams.
* Responsible for ventilator and Non-invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NPPV) management including ensuring safe, evidence-based setting with appropriate changes.
* May become trained as a core therapist in an ICU or diagnostics area (e.g., PFT or Sleep Lab) to meet department needs.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
* Accredited Program Required: Respiratory Care Program 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program or approved alternative education as outlined in the state regulatory requirements and
* Required: Must pass the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist exam within 6 months of hire
* Minimum of 2 years Preferred: Experience in acute care as a Respiratory Therapist and
* Minimum of 1 year Preferred: Experience in a pulmonary function lab and
* Preferred: Experience in ICU, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics
* Required: Respiratory Care Practitioner - Washington (Washington caregivers who were employed as of 6/29/2014 and who are licensed RCP but are not registry eligible due to the educational requirement (i.e., began working as a respiratory therapist when a 2-year degree was not required/available) will be grandfathered for this requirement.) and
* Required: within 6 months Registered Respiratory Therapist and
* ACLS and BLS required at time of hire.
* NRP certification must be obtained within a standard grace period from hire or transfer, as specified in the PeaceHealth Policy Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements, or upon hire.

What you will do
Reviews EMR for physician orders and patient information, to assess patient condition and determine requirements for treatment such as type and duration of therapy, and medication and dosages.
Determines most suitable method of administering inhalants, precautions to be observed, and modifications which may be needed that will be compatible with Physician's orders. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.
Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, blood gas collection and analysis, and aerosol equipment. Observes equipment function and adjusts to obtain optimum results to therapy. Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure appropriate safety and functionality. Reports improper working equipment
Monitors patient's physiological status and responses to therapy such as vital signs, breath sounds, respiratory rate and pattern, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.
Performs bronchopulmonary hygiene and assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
Performs basic life support measures, and responds to emergent patient situations.
Documents patient care in patient's EMR. Records accurate patient charges
Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to orientees. Serves as Clinical Instructor for Respiratory students

What you will do
Reviews EMR for physician orders and patient information to assess patient condition and determine requirements for treatment such as type and duration of therapy, medication and dosages. Accurately documents all patient care and completes patient charges in patient's electronic medical record.
Determines most suitable method of administering inhalants, precautions to be observed, and modifications which may be needed that will be compatible with Physician's orders. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.
Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation, therapeutic gas administration, blood gas collection and analysis and aerosol equipment. Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy. Inspects and tests Cardiopulmonary and respiratory therapy equipment to ensure appropriate safety and functionality. Reports improper working equipment.
Monitors patient's physiological status and responses to therapy, tests and procedures such as vital signs, breath sounds, respiratory rate and pattern, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.
Administers bronchopulmonary hygiene procedures and assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
Performs Cardiopulmonary testing procedures as ordered by physician, including preparation of equipment, assessment and monitoring of patient during procedure, coaching patient during procedure and maintaining infection control processes for patient and equipment.
Performs tests, procedures and treatments to inpatients and outpatients on a scheduled basis as well as emergent patient situations.
Performs basic life support measures and responds to emergent patient situations.
Maintains all cardiopulmonary and respiratory equipment by performing daily maintenance, calibration, pre-use check out procedures and troubleshooting to ensure and maintain a state of readiness.
Provides patient and family education on Cardiopulmonary disorders, tests, procedures, therapies and treatments.
Assists Cardiac and Pulmonary rehab patients in therapeutic exercises and activities, provides patient education during rehab sessions, assesses and monitors patients and completes documentation and patient charges.

Cares for the Cardio-Pulmonary needs of all assigned patients, from those who are undergoing routine diagnostic procedures to those requiring more complex critical care support, intervention, and transport support, as applicable to care setting. The work requires a team focus working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team aimed toward the best outcome for the patient and organization.
Details of the position:
+ Provides respiratory care to include diagnostic testing, oxygen and medication delivery, bronchial hygiene, arterial/capillary blood gas draw and analysis, advanced airway, and life support.
+ Patient assessment including the ability to monitor labs, hemodynamics, and radiology findings. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual patient care appropriate to the age of the patients.
+ Calibrates, cleans, sets up, maintains, and troubleshoots all patient related equipment and instruments. Assembles and stores cleaned equipment.
+ Participates in in-house educational in-services inter and intradepartmental as well as attending outside seminars and workshops, as requested by Manager.
+ Participates in various intermittent department tasks including, but not limited to, audits, quality assurance, statistical record keeping, patient charting and other special projects as specified by Manager.
+ May act as a member of trauma, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and rapid response teams.
+ Responsible for ventilator and Non-invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NPPV) management including ensuring safe, evidence-based setting with appropriate changes.
+ May become trained as a core therapist in an ICU or diagnostics area (e.g., PFT or Sleep Lab) to meet department needs.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
+ Accredited Program Required: Respiratory Care Program. 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program or approved alternative education as outlined in the state regulatory requirements and
+ Required: Must pass the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist exam within 6 months of hire.
+ Minimum of 2 years Preferred: Experience in acute care as a Respiratory Therapist and
+ Minimum of 1 year Preferred: Experience in a pulmonary function lab and
+ Preferred: Experience in ICU, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics
+ Required: Respiratory Care Practitioner - Washington (Washington caregivers who were employed as of 6/29/2014 and who are licensed RCP but are not registry eligible due to the educational requirement (i.e., began working as a respiratory therapist when a 2-year degree was not required/available) will be grandfathered for this requirement.) and
+ Required within 6 months: Registered Respiratory Therapist and
+ ACLS and BLS required at time of hire.
+ NRP certification must be obtained within a standard grace period from hire or transfer, as specified in the PeaceHealth Policy Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements, or upon hire.
+ PALS certification must be obtained within a standard grace period from hire or transfer, as specified in the PeaceHealth Policy Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements, or upon hire.

Clinical Duties Include (but not limited to):
Injection, exchange and removal of drainage catheters, to include GU and GI drains
Imaging guided thoracentesis and paracentesis
Perform venography and assist with arteriography
PICC placement and repositioning with ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance
Placement, repositioning, and removal of tunneled and non-tunneled catheters, including implanted ports
Perform lumbar puncture and myelography under imaging guidance
Perform biopsy under imaging guidance, to include thyroid
Perform arthrocentesis and joint injections under imaging guidance
Placement of small bore chest tubes under imaging guidance
Supervision of conscious sedation.
Evaluation and management of Interventional Radiology patients Including performing and documenting consultation, history and physical, progress notes.
Obtaining fluoroscopic diagnostic images under the supervision of diagnostic radiologists
Education Level:
Graduate, Master's degree Current Registry/Certification: RT(R) and/or RDMS, RVT preferred
Qualifications, Certifications, and Experience
Current Oregon license as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
Current BLS/ACLS certification will be required.
Current Registry R.T.(R) (AART) or RDMS, RVT is preferred *
Current privileges to operate fluoroscopy in Oregon preferred. *If not, may need to obtain based on job duties.
Maintain hospital privileges/credentialing where IR procedures are performed
CME of 100 hours is required every 2 years to maintain privileges.

Compensation:
Annual salary range $125,000 - $160,000 . Salary is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, equity and employment status. The compensation listed above is based on full-time employment status, full-time is 40 hours per week.
