Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum 5 years of medical billing and account follow up experience preferred.
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and the use of modifiers preferred. Familiar with CMS 1500/UB04 claim form completion, knowledge of Medicare, Managed care and commercial insurance products and plans.
Knowledge of physician billing and /or collections. Typing speed 55 wpm and the ability to use a calculator.

Your Impactful Role

Processes credit card payments
Responsible for patient and payor refund processes such as entering refund check numbers in each patient's account, preparing patient correspondence envelopes for outgoing checks, unless process becomes electronic.

Receive deposit time of service revenue from clinics and surgery centers to prepare daily deposits and reconciliations.
Responds timely and assesses “Missing Payment” email group inquiries for both Clinics and ASCs.

Basic Skills and Lensometry
Measures visual acuity at distance and near utilizing appropriate test for age and records accurately.
Perform pinhole testing when indicated.
Measures and records current lens power accurately with a lensometer
Patient Services
Applies proper ocular dressings and shields.

Perform a visual field utilizing Goldmann perimeter and Humphrey automated perimeter.
Calibrate the perimeter for accurate testing.
Correct the patient's refractive error and monitor fixation for accurate testing.
Identify common visual field defects and correspond with the correct etiology; neurologic, glaucomatous, retinal, physiologic or functional.
Use a bowl perimeter to detect and plot any peripheral isopter and to detect and plot peripheral field defects and to plot a scotoma within the central 30 degrees.

Escort patients to exam area and prepare for exam
Conduct direct patient evaluations, obtain history and order x-rays as needed.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and ordering of appropriate diagnostic tests, under physician supervision.
Develop and implement patient treatment plans at the direction of the physician, ensuring seamless continuity of care between office visits and surgical interventions.
Prepare specimens for laboratory and complete required forms and appropriate follow up of results.
Maintain accurate and complete medical records in accordance with clinical standards.
DME ordering, fitting, dispensing and education.
Physical Therapy order completion and referrals. HEP review and instruction as ordered by physician.
Educate patients about their diagnosis, treatment plans, diagnostic studies, surgical procedures, rehabilitation processes and DME, providing tailored guidance based on individual needs.
Assist with in-office procedures, including injections, aspirations, post-operative wound care, suture removal, dressing changes, and the application and removal of casts, splints or durable medical equipment.
Facilitate completion of handicapped parking permits, FMLA, disability forms, record and imaging requests, work and school excuses.
Serve as a primary liaison between patients and physicians, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care.
Coordinate consultations with other physicians.
Coordinate and obtain necessary prior authorizations for visco-supplementation injections, laboratory tests, and advanced imaging studies.

Your Impactful Role
Responsible for maintaining an organized workspace at the front desk.

Clinic

Obtain x-ray and imaging results and store in JOINTS, including import outside discs into JOINTS and X-ray backup available for single member team.
Obtain diagnostic results from appropriate source and scan report into Athena and match to close out order.
Serve as liaison between patient and physician.
Coordinate consultations with other physicians.
Provide staff coverage for other clinical personnel, as needed and at the request of Clinical Management.
Complete applications for handicap parking permits, FMLA, disability forms, and work excuses.
Document all aspects of visit in Athena to include Meaningful Use criteria.
Management support for MD to enter diagnosis codes.
Schedule all OR cases and maintain surgery schedule.
Responsible for all patient phone calls (clinical) ensuring proper documentation in Athena of action taken/advice given.
Telephone and/or send eRx prescriptions to pharmacy on MD request/approval.
Notify manufacturer's reps of surgical cases to ensure correct implants available in OR.
Coordinate special equipment, bone graft, etc., needed for surgery.
Wipe tables, change pillowcases, and straighten items in room.
Attend meetings and perform duties as requested.
Other duties may be assigned.

Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program or ARRT registered.Must complete required CEU's in a timely manner to ensure Certification remains active.
At least one year of experience as an MRI Technologist. Must have knowledge of MRI procedures and standards and skilled in the operation of MRI equipment.
Certification in additional specialty is a plus.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Must be certified with at least one of following certifications:
BLS Certified,ARRT (MR)
