Role Description
This is a full-time role for an Engineer in Training, located in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area with flexibility for some remote work. The Engineer in Training will assist in site layout, grading, utility design, and stormwater management. Daily tasks include preparing technical reports, performing engineering calculations, and coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance with local regulations. The role also involves collaborating with designers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Civil Engineering fundamentals, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, and utility design
Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools and related software for efficient project execution

Job Requirements / Qualifications
* Must reside in the state of Pennsylvania.

* Ability to learn quickly from senior engineers and supervisors, look up and reference ASHRAE standards, self-learn HVACR systems and components.

As a Mechanical Systems Engineer - Power Conversion Platforms, you will lead the mechanical design of next-generation power conversion systems, beginning with a 150kW module and scaling to multi-module, high-capacity configurations. Strong background in thermal analysis, FEA, and CFD simulations for system-level performance optimization
Familiarity with rack-mounted equipment, UPS systems, inverters, rectifiers, and modular power devices

Energy Engineer (Hybrid)

Willdan Lighting & Electric, a division of Willdan Group Inc., currently has openings for Energy Engineers. The Energy Engineer will support the design, verification, and implementation of energy efficiency systems across sectors such as manufacturing, new construction, and existing commercial buildings. They will work under the guidance of senior engineers and mentors to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Perform detailed energy savings calculations and spreadsheet analysis.
* Collect and evaluate project documentation such as utility bills, as-built drawings, and other pertinent project information.
* Identify and estimate applicable energy efficiency incentives.
* Analyze energy usage data.
* Use effective writing and verbal skills to deliver high-quality reports and presentations.
* Calculate cost savings and return on investment (ROI) for energy-efficient improvements.
* Review architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans and specifications to evaluate energy efficiency or determine economic, service, or engineering feasibility.
* Inspect or monitor energy systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or daylighting systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings.
* Conduct site visits to identify and/or confirm potential electric and gas conservation measures.
* Coordinate meetings with energy contractors/consultants.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
* Must reside in the state of Pennsylvania.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in engineering, preferred.
* 2-5 years experience in engineering/energy engineering industry.
* Ability to learn quickly from senior engineers and supervisors, look up and reference ASHRAE standards, self-learn HVACR systems and components.
* Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
* Ability to collaborate and contribute within a team environment.
* Ability to communicate proactively with the team, customers, and contractors.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and familiar with HVAC-R Modeling software (eQuest, Energy Plus, etc.)
* Ability to travel up to 30% of the time (Travel may include various means of transportation including automobile, public transportation, rail, and airplane.
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
