1999

In 1999, the company continued to trim its portfolio with the sale of its Lazard holdings for £410 million.

2000

In 2000, National Computer Systems Inc. was acquired for $2.5 billion and merged into its Pearson Education unit.

2001

As such, profits in the Financial Times Group fell by nearly 40 percent in 2001.

2002

2002: Pearson sells its 22 percent stake in RTL Group to Bertelsmann AG.

2006

Pursuit of his interests in the field has allowed him to produce various scholarship in the form of conference presentation, book reviews, and award-winning articles—including the 2006 Wrangler Award for Best Non-Fiction Article presented by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

2007

On 4th May 2007, Pearson agreed to acquire Harcourt Assessment and Harcourt Education International from Reed Elsevier.

2012

An investigation by KPCC later discovers that Pearson had been in contact with the district since May of 2012, proposing the idea of a tablet-based curriculum for the school district.

In the spring of 2012, tests that Pearson designed for the New York State Education Department are found to contain over 30 errors.

2015

The weekly newspaper is started by James Wilson, a hat maker from the small Scottish town of Hawick, to campaign against the Corn Laws, a system of import tariffs. (Pearson sold its 50% stake in the company in 2015.)

2018

OpenClass will no longer be available after 2018.

2019
