The position also performs cerebral silence and intraoperative EEG's. Compensation Pay Range: $32.55 - $46.55 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Under the general supervision of the Department Supervisor or Coordinator, perform EEG's on a range of patients from neonatal to geriatric. a. Responsible to assure that all testing is done according to departmental policy. 2. Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with patients, patient families, laboratory staff, physicians, and other members of the Hospital staff. 3. Prepares patients for testing and applies a variety of biopotential electrodes as required. a. Measures and marks each patient using the International 10/20 system and documents the placement on the facesheet. b. Applies electrodes using the appropriate medium with impedances under 5 ohms. 4. Performs intraoperative EEG's noting all ischemic occurrences. 5. Calibrates, evaluates and adjusts instruments. 6. Removes electrodes and cleans the patient as needed. 7. Cleans and maintains the equipment and testing room in an organized and sanitary fashion. 8. Recognizes abnormal sleep, respiratory and cardiac patterns. 9. Recognizes artifact (patient or environmental) and corrects the cause. 10. Embrace Your Role as a Speech Pathologist Your impactful journey involves: Evaluating, assessing, developing, and administering personalized treatment plans for patients with speech and language rehabilitation needs. Identifying issues and modifying speech therapy treatment if necessary. Tracking and documenting patient performance, progress, and response to treatment. Celebrating patient victories along the way. Qualifications Current licensure or certification required by state regulations. Successful completion of SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC). CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Master's degree preferred, or Bachelor's degree with field experience.
