The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Fetal Care and Surgical Center (FCSC) provides advanced clinical management and care coordination for pregnant individuals carrying fetuses with congenital anomalies, from prenatal diagnosis through delivery and postnatal transition. The NP functions as a clinical expert and integral member of a multidisciplinary team, providing procedural, perioperative, and educational support within this highly specialized and dynamic program. The role requires strong clinical judgment, advanced procedural and coordination skills, and the ability to navigate complex maternal-fetal cases across inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary NP for all new fetal intervention referrals, performing comprehensive clinical intakes and triage.
Provide and coordinate care for pregnant individuals carrying fetuses with congenital anomalies through prenatal evaluation, fetal intervention, and delivery planning.
Conduct history and physical examinations, obstetric assessments including cervical checks, pelvic exams, rupture of membrane assessments, and postpartum evaluations.
Facilitate diagnostic studies, interpret lab results, and prescribe medications in collaboration with maternal-fetal medicine and surgical teams.
Provide perioperative and postoperative support, including day-of-surgery assessment, intraoperative collaboration, PACU monitoring, inpatient rounding, and discharge facilitation.
Conduct peer-to-peer reviews and draft letters of medical necessity (LOMN) for fetal intervention patients.
Participate in and document needle-based procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and bladder taps.
Evaluate and interpret non-stress tests (NSTs) and initiate interventions as clinically indicated.
Collaborate with maternal-fetal medicine physicians during procedural visits and progressively assume responsibility for obstetric-related examinations and procedures.
Support and/or lead postpartum visits following fetal intervention or delivery.
Partner with program leadership to develop, refine, and evaluate clinical workflows that optimize care delivery and patient experience.
Provide education and mentorship through lectures, in-services, simulation, case reviews, and new team member onboarding.

Nurse Practitioner - Complex Care Services Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to function in the inpatient Complex Care Service (CCS) at Boston Children's Hospital. CCS is a long-standing and nationally regarded inpatient service in Pediatric Hospital Medicine within the Division of General Pediatrics that serves hospitalized children with medical complexity, who have complex chronic conditions and functional limitations. Common reasons for admission to CCS include infections (aspiration pneumonia, pyelonephritis), chronic condition exacerbations (epilepsy, digestive dysmotility), and post-operative recovery following surgery (baclofen pump placement, gastrostomy, spinal fusion, etc.). This role will provide patient evaluation, assessment, and facilitate care for the patients on the CCS service and will implement interventions tailored to improve systems for patient care and enhance patient safety for this population. The CCS APRN will work collaboratively with supervising physicians, pediatric trainees (residents and fellows), and the entire nursing team to promote optimal clinical care. This APRN will act as a clinical resource, facilitating staff educational opportunities. The setting is fast-paced and collaborative with many opportunities for learning. Requirements include completion of a master's degree program in Nursing. Clinical experience with children with medical complexity is preferred.

PACT (Pediatric Advanced Care Team) Nurse Practitioner Fellowship PACT offers a full-time, 12-month, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Fellowship. The pediatric nurse practitioner fellow will train alongside two physician fellows and one social work fellow in this distinctive interprofessional program. The fellowship includes mentored clinical supervision on PACT across settings (inpatient, outpatient, community, bereavement) in the care of children with serious illness and their families in the domains of communication, pain and symptom management, psychosocial assessment and management, advance care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and various delivery models in palliative care.
This fellowship is designed to conform to the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association's Standards for Clinical Practicum in Palliative Nursing for Practicing Professional Nurses, Scope and Standards of Practice, and Competencies for Advanced Practice Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses.
What to expect
The pediatric and adult interprofessional palliative care fellows attend educational/training sessions together throughout the year. The learning activities (and supervision) are intertwined with the clinical work. The fellowship starts in July with intensive summer didactics that focus on the fundamentals of palliative care (e.g. a core curriculum of symptom management, communication, advance care planning, working on inter-professional team). In the fall, fellows have half-day didactic sessions monthly in addition to clinical work/academic projects distributed across the fellowship year.
Qualified candidates will have:
Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
Board certified or board eligible by January 31st, 2026: Pediatric Primary Care, Pediatric Acute Care, or Family Nurse Practitioner
Licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse in Massachusetts
prior to the start of the fellowship

The Anchor Nurse Practitioner (Anchor NP) is a member and extender of a primary care team that includes primary care providers (PCPs), nurses, medical assistants, and other team members. The Anchor NP provides direct patient care, supports timely completion of care for the team, and co-manages selected patients with the PCPs and other team members, including the complex care management team, the integrated behavioral health team, and the clinical pharmacy team. The Anchor NP models teamwork, interdisciplinary care, and shared responsibility
The Anchor NP enhances timely access for primary care patients and improves the patient experience for patients on the panels of the PCPs in their department in the below areas, as prioritized by the Department Medical Director:
Provide direct patient care as needed or as requested to patients on their team PCPs' panels.
Provide enhanced access and care coordination to high-risk patients and patients with chronic diseases.
Provide inter-visit support for the primary care team, including patient visits and in basket management for unavailable providers during vacations, off days, or sick days. Daily collaboration with nursing team to address timely patient needs.
Provide specialized care responsibilities for patients with certain conditions at the discretion of the Medical Director or designee.

Role & Responsibilities:
Direct Care and Care Coordination:
27 hours per week of Primary Care or other direct clinical care with additional 7 hours of clinical administrative time that includes case management and supervision time for a total of 34 hours.
Target Productivity: 1.8 patient visits per clinical hour (approximately 2,000 visits per year)
Responsibilities may include:
Provide timely and same-day visits for patients unable to see their PCP
Co-manage selected patients with PCPs for management of chronic conditions, preventative care, complex care management and improved access.
Coordinate care for selected patients with complex care management team, community health workers, behavioral health clinicians, and other team members.
Additional direct care responsibilities
Provide urgent care, facilitate group medical visits, and support substance use or other specialty care services as requested by the Medical Director.
Provide special services including population health coordination for defined patient populations as requested by the Medical Director.
Work one weekend session per month in Urgent Care or Primary Care.
Work one evening per week.
Department Inter-visit Responsibilities:
Approximately one hour per day - schedule to be determined with the Medical Director.
Responsible for ensuring daily completion of inter-visit care for patients of providers who are unavailable, with a focus on completing today's work for the primary care team. This will be accomplished through supporting the Nursing Team and collaborating with PCPs.
