This exciting full-time, inpatient position is ideal for a self-motivated Physician Assistant who is knowledgeable in the aspects of General Surgery and enjoys working within all of the surgical subspecialties. The duties include night coverage at our modern and conveniently located Medical Center. The ideal candidate would possess the current skills to evaluate surgical patients, interact with the Multidisciplinary Hospital Staff, and assist in all aspects of patient care. This would include ER evaluation, admission and peri-operative management of in-patients for General Surgical Service, as well as first assisting in the operating room.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program who is eligible to be licensed to practice as a Certified Physician Assistant in Massachusetts
A current federal DEA and eligibility for Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration will be required
Candidate must have certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
The successful candidate should have experience in the acute care/surgical setting or completion of a Postgraduate Surgical Residency program. We are open to highly motivated new graduates

Our 30-bed MSICU cares for medical and surgical patients ranging from newborn to early adult. The patient population is diverse with a variety of medical and surgical needs. Our newborn population primarily includes patients with congenital diaphragmatic hernia or those needing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) soon after birth. The children and early adults have a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to acute respiratory distress syndrome, multiple trauma, septic shock, congenital malformations, and liver, lung, and kidney transplantation. We are seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to become an integral part of a team that believes in the value of personalized care and the power of multidisciplinary teams to provide the very best care possible to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide care to infants, children, and adults with critical illness.
Collaborate with supervising physicians to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams, and diagnose health and developmental problems.
Manage therapeutic regimens for patients with acute and chronic disease according to approved guidelines.
Participate in intensive care unit medical rounds, including presenting clinical information and updates on patient progress and management.
