What You'll Do
Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims for therapy services.
Monitor claim status, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and work directly with insurance carriers to resolve issues.
Process secondary claims and coordinate billing for patient out-of-pocket expenses.
Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and ensure proper documentation before services are provided.
Communicate with patients to explain balances, resolve billing questions, and assist with payment plans.
Reconcile accounts receivable and maintain organized records of billing activity, payments, and correspondence.
Support and guide other billing team members in handling complex or unusual billing situations.
Stay current with insurance and HIPAA regulations, sharing updates to ensure team compliance.
Collaborate with therapists, administrative staff, and leadership to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.
What You Bring
5+ years of hands-on experience in medical billing, preferably in a therapy or healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of insurance verification, coding, pre-authorizations, claim submission, and appeals.
High attention to detail with strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
A problem-solver who takes initiative and works well both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred: Associate degree or certification in medical billing and coding.

Responsibilities
