Sky Lakes Medical Center is seeking a full-time Pediatric physician or Pediatric Hybrid Hospitalists to join a rapidly growing pediatrics team in Klamath Falls, Oregon. You will be supporting an exceptional maternal/child health team at a facility that features a 15-bed Family Birthing Center, a level 1 well-baby nursery, a level 2 special care nursery, and a 6-bed inpatient pediatric unit. Along with supporting this group, this role comes with the opportunity for one-on-one teaching with Family Medicine residents who see pediatric and neonatal patients in the inpatient setting. The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care within the Children's Wisconsin ambulatory clinics and surgical services settings. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at the Children's Wisconsin Milwaukee Campus, Greenfield Clinic and Kenosha Clinic, with potential to travel to other ambulatory clinical sites in southeast Wisconsin as needed. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Position Highlights
Works in partnership with Dr. Bridget Ellsworth among other interdisciplinary health care team members to care for patients from birth to young adulthood in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic orthopaedic conditions.
Collaborates with the patient, their family and other health care team members to determine appropriate surgical and non-surgical interventions in a blended environment consisting of outpatient, inpatient and operative settings as a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery team.
Participates in administrative or non-clinical activities as required by Children's WI, Children's Specialty Group (CSG) and the Medical College of WI (MCW).
Uses the electronic medical record (EMR) to write accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders.
Orders, performs, and interprets screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately documents and communicates results to patients and their families.
Privileged to perform procedures beyond core responsibilities as identified by the Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery team.
Facilitates and communicates with patients, their family and health care team to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care.
Attends required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission.
Evaluates quality outcomes and implements quality initiatives for the patients receiving care from this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboards.
Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature as it relates to Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
Contributes to after hour patient care that requires limited on-call coverage to include patient rounds, and performing procedures when called to the hospital for emergent or urgent services. Call time will be determined by department needs and is shared among the Pediatric Orthopaedic APP team annually.
Provides services at multiple hospital based clinics as needed by the clinical practice.
Participates in the ongoing education of future healthcare providers through mentorship and preceptorship opprotunities.
Reports to divisional leadership with collaboration from their attending physician.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Position Highlights:
Perform preanesthetic evaluation (including medical and surgical history from parent and child, a review of previous medical records, including previous anesthetic records, and focused physical examination), provide family education/instruction and other preparations for anesthesia/surgery to include NPO status, pre meditation, psychological and medical preparation in consultation with the anesthesiologist when appropriate. Also includes a past anesthetic, medical and surgical history from parent and child, a review of previous medical records, including previous anesthetic records and a preoperative anesthetic exam. Based on this assessment, preoperative lab work, x-rays and other studies would be reviewed or ordered as appropriate.
