Your Job Responsibilities:
• Provides front line leadership and decision-making for departmental staff, ensuring the quality and integrity of care delivered.
• Develops plan for unit staffing based on patient acuity/care needs and oversees day to day operations on the designated shift.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts staffing accordingly to support fiscal goals of the unit.
• Coordinates and facilitates efficient patient flow for the unit. Ensures timely and efficient pull of patients being admitted to the unit as well as timeliness of discharging patients from the unit.
• Assists the manager in achieving and sustaining department and organizational objectives including but not limited to patient experience, length of stay, and unit/patient specific quality measures.
• Participates in department specific initiatives and process improvement projects.
• Participates in peer interviews and provide feedback for employee evaluations as requested by manager.
• Assists with occurrence investigations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the Post-Surgical Unit/ED/Float Pool Clinical Supervisor, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical and telemetry patients to ensure that patient care services are delivered in accordance with the hospital's mission, vision, and goals. This role involves interfacing with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care and respond effectively to patient needs. The Post Surgical Unit Registered Nurse (RN) will support our team by being responsible for the following:
Provide direct patient care within the RN scope of practice, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Implement physician orders, administer and document medications safely, and provide nursing interventions as necessary, in accordance with standards of practice.
Perform accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record to reflect the patient's condition and treatment and correct patient admit/discharge/transfer status.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Provide education to patients and their families about care and expectations.
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, and National Patient Safety Goals.
Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions with staff, patients, and families.
