WE ARE SEEKING A PEDIATRIC HOME HEALTHCARE NURSE FOR A SMALL CHILD WHO NEEDS WOUND CARE.
Shift: 21 HOURS PER WEEK. MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY'S 7AM-3PM WITH AN ADDITIONAL FIVE HOURS THAT CAN BE DONE ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
Pay Rate: LPN $45 per hour and RN $55 per hour

Nurse Responsibilities:
Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
Accurately monitor and track clients' overall health and medical history during every visit
Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
Change bandages, wound dressings, and catheters, among other related healthcare tasks
Verify clients are taking the correct dosages of medications
Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
Provide emotional and psychological support to the client and family members as needed
Licensed Practical Nurse (RN) Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in nursing
Experienced pediatricnurse with strong skills in tube feedings and wound care
Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.
1+ year nursing experience preferred
Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
Current RN or LPN license in the state of Georgia
Access to reliable transportation
Ability to work independently and with directions
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
Exceptional customer service skills
Compassionate and friendly demeanor

Position Purpose
Supervises the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Nurse Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing and Senior Director of Nursing, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Exercises supervisory authority, even at times when the RN is on duty and must use discretion and independent judgment to ensure proper discipline and productivity.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school for Licensed Practical Nursing and currently licensed as an LPN in Georgia.
Three to five years of recent LPN experience in GA supervisory experience required.
Must be able to supervise and instruct CNAs and others , and to exercise independent judgment.
Leadership, training, goal setting and motivation skills preferred.
Ability to respond to emergencies; ability to respond to and seek supervision.
Able to read and write in English, to understand and follow written and oral instructions, and able to communicate with residents, personnel, vendors, and consultants.
Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Directs the day-to-day functions of nursing activities to include supervising CNAs to ensure residents needs are met
Manage CNA duties, documentation completion, initiate and oversee daily shift huddle meeting
Educate and train new staff and introduce new procedures and protocols including orientation
Communicates with management regarding CNA performance, staff issues and changes to treatment and protocols. Providing and documenting teachable moments
Works with Scheduler to ensure and regulatory coverage is met, managing overnight and weekends call outs
Evaluates resident complaints to determine the appropriate plan of care, communicates with physicians and other healthcare providers as necessary to ensure timely treatment and resolution.
Carries out physician's orders regarding diet, medication and treatment
Performs assessments; changes dressings; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation.
Reports on physiological and mental health status of residents.
Documents nursing interventions on medical records.
Distributes and maintains records of controlled drugs and ensures their security
Makes decisions in routine cases; instructs residents, staff, family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care issues
Remain calm under pressure, competent in making quick decisions in emergency situations, evaluating the quality of resident care, resolving conflicts, and anticipating problems before they arise
Maintains availability of medications and supplies
Will work with developmental disability or intellectual disability or an acquired brain injury residents
Maintains privacy and confidentiality; treats residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; and ensures that all nursing personnel know and comply with the Resident's Rights rules.
Communicates medical information, change in resident health status, and health related concerns to the resident's family/guardian.
Performs and/or supervises the medication administration processes, administration of prescribed treatments and other therapies. Assumes this responsibility for both units during occasional staffing shortages.
Monitors, evaluates and documents residents prescribed blood sugar levels, vital signs and weights alerting the physician of any findings outside of established normal ranges.
Collaborates with the Dietician and the Culinary Operations Director in planning for those residents requiring special diets.
Collaborate with therapy regarding plan of care
Receives Physician's orders, updates MAR's with new medication orders and change orders and communicates same to other staff assisting with medications.
Performs admission, transfer and discharge processes.
Facilitates the development of the resident's preliminary and comprehensive assessment and written care plan.
Completes nursing documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
Administers professional services and provides direct hands-on-care as necessary.
Maintains professional competencies through education and training.
Attends all required and assigned trainings.
Performs other duties as assigned that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwannee, Inc. to meet the patient care needs of the Residents.
Serves as a member of or provides input to the Professional Staff Committee, the Process Improvement Committee and the Resident's Council.

Training & Advancement

Officer training is complete, you will learn the ins and outs of life as a Navy Nurse before receiving your first posting. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.

Nurse Anesthetists - Administer general and regional anesthesia, monitor patients receiving anesthesia, and assist in instructing medical trainees and other Officers
Primary Care Nurse Practitioners - Provide comprehensive health care and health maintenance for service members and their families
Medical-Surgical Nurses - Assess, plan and implement direct nursing care of patients on an assigned unit, and assume charge nurse responsibilities
Perioperative Nurses - Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care of surgery patients
Critical Care Nurses - Provide highly skilled, specialized nursing care to critical patients, including en route care, and train personnel in critical care nursing procedures
Mental Health Nurses and Nurse Practitioners - Provide direct patient care in mental health services, and lead and train other military and civilian personnel
Military-specific Specializations - Education and training, manpower systems analysis, and nursing research

Qualifications & Requirements
A degree from a four-year college or university is a minimum educational requirement to become a Commissioned Officer. You must also attend Officer Training. There may be exceptions to the degree requirements based on extensive service experience. Additional qualifications include:
U.S. Citizen between the ages of 18 and 41
Currently licensed and practicing nursing in the U.S. (new graduates must obtain a license within one year of beginning Active Duty service)
In good standing (as a student or graduate) with a CCNE-accredited U.S. education program granting a Bachelor of Science degree

Part-Time Opportunities
When serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Nurse, your duties are carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Nurse Corps Officers in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
For annual training, you may serve anywhere in the world, including locations in the U.S., at bases overseas, or in areas where humanitarian needs are great.

Most of what you do in the Navy Reserve is considered training. The basic Navy Reserve commitment involves training a minimum of one weekend a month (referred to as drilling) and two weeks a year (referred to as Annual Training) - or the equivalent of that.
Nurses in the Navy Reserve serve in an Officer role. Before receiving the ongoing professional training that comes with this job, initial training requirements must first be met.
For current or former Navy Officers (NAVET): Prior experience satisfies the initial leadership training requirement - so you will not need to go through Officer Training again.
For current or former Officers of military branches other than the Navy (OSVET), as well as for Officer candidates without prior military experience: Officer Candidates are required to attend Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI. ODS is a five-week program that provides a comprehensive and intense introduction to the responsibilities of Navy Staff Corps Officers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide and coordinate care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of patient, develop and implement nursing care plans, maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures.
Ensure physician's orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
Ensure patient's status is assessed on an ongoing basis and pertinent information gathered is documented.
Collaborate with others to ensure that all patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.
Notify physician of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergency or change in medical status regarding response to medications, etc.
Ensure nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs and initial treatment plan is completed upon admission.
Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
Accurately administer medications per ordered note and document accurate count of controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
Responsible for completing admission and discharge processed efficiently and accurately as directed.
Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patient direct attention and maintaining rational detachment.
Provide direction or coordinate the activities of the unit as directed.
Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers and others involved in patient treatment in an effective manner.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
One or more years' nursing experience within clinical area of service provided by facility preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current RN license as required by state.
CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
