The Clinical Quality Consultant will drive consistency, efficient processes and share best practices - in a collaborative effort with the providers - designed to facilitate a minimum 4 STAR rating. Provide analytical interpretation of Stars and HEDIS reporting, including executive summaries to plan and provider groups
Be the primary go to person for all STARS related activities within their assigned market(s) working within a matrix relationship which includes Quality corporate operations and Regional/Market operations
Assist in developing of training and analytical materials for Stars and HEDIS
Lead or participate and present in weekly, Monthly, Bi-monthly, Quarterly and/or Annual business Review meetings related to STAR activities which summarize provider group performance and market performance as requested by or required by Quality or Regional leadership
Analyze and evaluate provider group structure and characteristics, provider group/provider office operations and personnel to identify the most effective approaches and strategies

Microsoft Office specialist with exceptional attention to detail; must be proficient with Excel
50 - 75% local travel required, with occasional overnight travel

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership and direction to Mental Health Workers and LVNs
Assesses patient/resident care.
Administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician, physician's assistant or nurse practitioner.
Provides structure to and assists in maintaining the therapeutic milieu.
Documents nursing care and treatment progression in the progress notes using the multi-disciplinary treatment plan.
Implements nursing and milieu care. Oversight and management of therapeutic milieu.
Assesses, intervenes and directs staff in psychiatric and/or medical crisis situations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES : Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnosis, and intervention with psychiatric patients. Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side effects. Knowledge of milieu management. Ability to delegate responsibility to other staff and monitor their performance. Ability to safely implement emergency behavioral interventions. Skill in developing therapeutic relationships with adults, children, adolescents and their families. Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
EDUCATION : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION : Current Texas driver's license or valid state ID. Current Texas State Registered Nurse license or compact state licensure.
EXPERIENCE : Experience in Mental Health Nursing preferred but not required.
