PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
CLINIC OPERATIONS:
Manages the operations of the clinic, including costs, processes, staffing, and quality standards.
Provides leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
Partners with internal Human Resources, Quality, and Technical Services departments.
Collaborates with or functions as the Home Therapies Program Manager to oversee the facility's Home Therapies Program.
Maintains integrity of medical and operations records and complies with all data collections and auditing activities.
Accountable for completion of the Annual Standing Order Review and Internal Classification of Disease (ICD) coding.
Manages clinic financials including efficient utilization of supplies or equipment and regular profits and loss review.
Responsible for all required network reporting and on-site state or federal surveys.
PATIENT CARE:
Coordinates all aspects of patient care with the appropriate staff members, from admission through discharge of the patient.
Ensure education of the patient regarding quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, and access care.
Acts as a resource for the patient and family to address concerns and questions.
Accountable for timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
Manages timely patient schedules to ensure facility efficiency and develops action plans for missed treatments.
Plans, coordinates, and validates patient eligibility for treatment.
Reports changes in patient status regarding any clinical, insurance, or travel and transportation issues.
STAFF:
Participates in the selection and hiring of new team members and ensures completion of new hiring orientation and mandatory trainings.
Responsible for all patient care employees completing appropriate training courses and that licensures/certifications are current.
Provides support for all clinical staff members at regular intervals and encourages professional growth.
Maintains current knowledge regarding company benefits, policies, procedures, and processes.
Completes employee evaluations and establishes annual goals.
Documents any disciplinary actions and confers with the clinic Director of Operations and Human Resources when needed.
Manages staff scheduling and payroll.
PHYSICIANS:
Facilitates the application process for physician privileges and compliance with Fresenius Medical Care Medical Staff By-Laws.
Responsible for strong physician relationships and ensures regular and effective communication.
Participates in Governing Body, an interdisciplinary team for each region including MSWs, Dietitians, MDs, DOs etc. that governs policies.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
Current appropriate state licensure.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
6+ years business operations experience in a healthcare facility.
12 months experience in clinical nursing.
6 months chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Preferred but not required:
3+ years supervisory or project/program management experience.
Med/surg or ICU/CCU experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Day-to-day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians
Position may require travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community and/or travel to regional, business unit, and corporate meetings may be required.
The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.

The ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.
Research demonstrates that new to practice nurses completing a structured and accredited residency program leads to:

Therefore, we are committed to supporting all registered nurses with under one year of experience through a nurse residency specialty track.
This exciting curriculum integrates:
Lecture and simulation education
Peer support
Up to 16 weeks (as determined by your individual transition to practice needs) of preceptor-led clinical experiences structured to foster critical thinking, evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, effective communication, quality and safety, and professional development.
The progressive care nurse resident will complete preceptor-led training on our intermediate or transitional level step-down units at our Newark or Wilmington campuses. The nurse resident completes preceptor-led training followed by continued residency meetings during months 6, 8, 10, and 12 to further develop as professional nurses and integral member of our caregiver team.
Upon completion of this program, participants will have built a strong foundation for nursing practice in a fast-paced, challenging environment, bridging care for medically complex patients outside of the Intensive Care Unit.
Nurse residents are required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware (or compact state) prior to starting position. Upon hire, a commitment agreement to work at the ChristianaCare will be signed. The agreement requires completion of a two years with the requirement to remain on the unit of hire for a minimum of 15 months. Individuals unable to fill this commitment will be charged $10,000.

Utilizes available foreign language skills to translate for patients when necessary.
Under the direct supervision of the provider able to effectively administer injections and provide information to patients regarding medication, treatment and/or procedures.
Adhere to policies and procedures for maintaining the confidentiality of medical records to HIPPA
Assist in the documentation of all injections and other point of care tests, and reporting of results to appropriate clinicians or other appropriate health agencies.
Provides a variety of health related information to patients with the direction from the provider.
Adhere to policies and procedures for disinfection and handling of contaminated waste or equipment. Adhering to infectious disease control practices and procedures.
Answers the telephone in a courteous and timely manner, and directs calls to the appropriate person.
Performs any other duties within the medical center as requested by the Nurse Supervisor, the Providers, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer or their representative and any other member of the senior leadership team.

💡 Your Role
As a Travel Nurse Educator, you'll:
Deliver hands-on training to clinic staff (RNs, LPNs, Techs) on the 5008X machine
Travel in 3-week deployment cycles to different clinics nationwide
Provide on-site support during live treatments (no direct patient care)
Promote safe and effective machine use through collaboration and coaching

🧳 What You'll Need
Active RN license (multi-state highly preferred)
1+ year of dialysis RN experience (minimum 1 year in the past 3 years)

Willingness to travel full-time and lead hands-on training
💸 Compensation
Weeks 1-6 (Training Period)
$54/hour, travel stipends included if currently traveling. Varies by location
EXAMPLE Pay Package Week 7 and Beyond (Travel Assignments -- Pay Varies By Location)
Taxable Weekly Pay: $1,089 (W2)
Non-Taxable Weekly Stipends: $1,869

Job Specific Duties/Competences
*Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission. The data collected forms the basis of an individualized plan of care. *Identifies teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient from the nursing admission assessment and by collaborating with patient/family and the Interdisciplinary team.
*Provides patient information and status in a timely manner for the Initial Team Conference and for Re-evaluation Team Conferences on a weekly basis. *Responsible and accountable for accurate, succinct and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions and patient's response in the medical record in accordance with policy.
*Participates in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit. Is responsible and accountable for direct patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care with a priority on the education of the patient/family/significant other based on the health care needs identified. *Uses a positive and encouraging approach to achieve patient goals and quality outcomes.
Initiates discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission. Initiates patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
2-Years Bedside Clinical Experience
BLS & ACLS Required
Demonstrate brilliant empathy & communication skills
Ability to work in a stressful & emotional environment
