Job Description Pediatric Specialty Care currently seeks Respiratory Therapists The role of the Respiratory Therapist is to work with a patient. This position helps patients manage their pulmonary disease in a more effective and efficient manner to improve quality of everyday living. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned. Respiratory Therapist are to: Maintains an understanding of the subject matter as set forth during orientation and training. Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy and testing procedures through patient vital signs and physiological signs and symptoms. Respiratory Therapist must maintain a level of knowledge to interact with and retrieve chart information through an electronic medical records system Demonstrates knowledge and confidence in subject matter related to the CROM (Comprehensive Respiratory Outcome Management) program and disease management, including but not limited to: Disease education for chronic respiratory conditions Medication adherence Pulmonary rehabilitation Nutrition and general wellness Respiratory device usage (CPAP, BIPAP, etc.) Ability to educate patients, caregivers and other healthcare professionals (for in services or as needed) Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
