School Counselors deliver developmentally appropriate activities and services. School Counselors are active members of the school community and support staff, students, and parents in achieving the mission of the school and providing an individualized educational experience. Essential Position Functions: Host small and large group sessions to students including but not limited to the following: social emotional learning support, academic information sessions, transition and articulation. Plan and host school wide events which may include but not limited to Career Week, Red Ribbon Week, Honor Roll, and other student recognition events. Assist and provide consultation to students and families in the enrollment and course selection process. Determine eligibility requirements, collaborate with enrollment techs and registrars to gather requirements documents. Collaborate with the Admin team in master schedule decisions/needs. Review academic records and determine appropriate course placement as well as identify screening needs for intensive support or acceleration. Full Time Only- Course scheduling, schedule changes, ensuring promotion/graduation requirements are met as well as any requirements or documents needed. Supporting withdrawal process and gathering documents if needed. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders (email, text, communication tool, SIS, newsletter, website, weekly update, staff meetings). Provide academic, articulation, and social emotional support information and resources as requested. Create and host sessions for parents and staff and provide updated communication on varied topics throughout the year. Support college and career readiness and exploration. Coordinate and collaborate with counselors of other FLVS programs (Flex/FT) for student records, transfers, course progress monitoring, and approvals for courses taken via Flex Working closely with school administration to ensure individual student needs are met. Collaborating with other teams (Enrollment/Assessment, ESE, MTSS, ELL, Student Services) to ensure individual student needs are met and as well as attending associated meetings (IEP/504 meetings, SST, and TAT meetings). Provide completed input forms/documentation as requested to support student success. Implement Tier 1 mental health supports and SEL curriculum support when needed. Be an active participant in Threat Assessment Team Meetings, Re-entry meetings and additional support as warranted. Activate handle with care and monitor student progress accordingly. Assist with student crisis and follow-up as needed. Providing individual student and parent support based on need (technical assistance, academic, counseling, SEL, etc). Work to ensure assigned help tickets are resolved in a timely manner. Create and monitor tickets submitted to address student needs and supports workflow accordingly. Be an active participant in the school community attending school, grade level, and team meetings and functions. Attend other school wide events as required (ex: pre-planning, graduation, student services events, and other FLVS professional development days) Stay up to date on the latest legislative changes that impact the role of School Counselor. Participate in ongoing professional development for continued growth. Meet professional obligations through efficient and effective work habits. Valid professional Florida certificate in Guidance and Counseling. Experience: Three years' high school, middle school or elementary school guidance experience. Knowledge, abilities and skills: Knowledge and understanding of all state and federal education guidelines. Knowledge of university admission requirements and procedures. Knowledge of all state rules, laws, policies, and procedures applicable to elementary, middle and high school students. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of technical issues affecting the organization. Proficiency in organization and coordination skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to the resources they need. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services - working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. All of our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual. We are looking for a certified peer mentor or an individual who is in long-term recovery from a substance use disorder or substance use with mental health, who is eligible to work toward becoming a certified peer supporter. Experience working with resources in Fairfield County preferred. Essential Functions: Participates as an active member of the Ohio START team. Works jointly with the Ohio START case worker and behavioral health provider to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of intensive wrap-around services to the START families on the caseload and to assist with the safety of the child(ren). Participates in initial meetings, weekly status meetings, and Family Team Meetings to review families' progress. Providing continual exploration of the family's needs to empower the family to take ownership over their long-term successes and the safety of the child(ren); Supporting the parent(s) in achieving personal independence; Connecting START families to community resources; Teaching families skills to effectively navigate the child welfare system; Assisting families with identifying and accessing natural support systems in the community; Promoting coordination and linkage among providers within the local community Coordinating or providing assistance in crisis interventions and stabilization of families Assisting families to develop empowerment skills through promoting self-advocacy Identify barriers (internal and external) to full participation in community resources and develop strategies to overcome those barriers Providing input on court forms, as needed; Providing input on the development of the case plan and child safety; and Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Have earned a minimum education level of GED. Lived experience with child welfare services as a parent or child. Minimum 3 years of quality recovery from Substance Use Disorder. Familiarity with community health & human service systems. Able to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression. Can effectively operate in an Internet-based, electronic health record (EHR) and other data environments. Demonstrate long-term recovery (at least 2 years is required, three years is preferred) from a SUD. Demonstrate no ongoing criminal activity. Have lived experience with the child welfare system either as a parent or child, with the case closed at least one year, or if you do not have direct CPS experience, be able to describe how your substance use affected your children and family.
