PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: DESIGNING/PLANNING Utilizes mission, core beliefs, and objectives for the content of the course. Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation, state standard based, upon request of immediate supervisor. Develops lesson plans based on state standard based instructional objectives. Utilizes appropriate placement procedures grouping and implementation of differentiated instruction. Addresses various levels of thinking. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Makes provision for being available to students, parents, and the administration for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. IMPLEMENTING INSTRUCTION Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) and, cooperatively with department heads evaluates their job performance. Utilizes materials appropriate for level and objectives. Uses equipment, required materials, and supplements effectively. Varies media to promote motivation and learning, and to allow for individual differences. LEARNING ENVIRONMENT Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by Paradise Schools. Defines limits of acceptable behavior and consequences of behavior, and communicates these to appropriate individuals. Provides written, enforceable rules for classroom procedures. Demonstrates a fair, firm, and consistent relationship with students. Uses a variety of techniques for management control. Maintains an orderly classroom environment conducive to learning. Establishes a positive rapport with students. Deals effectively with conflicts among students and between personnel and students. Communicates with parents and guardians effectively. Athletics/Activities/Assistant Coach COACH QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a sports program. 2. Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. 3. Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. 4. Coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions. REPORTS TO: The District Athletic Director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director and respective principal. JOB GOAL: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc. In several instances, the coach must advise, coordinate and support assistant coaches in conjunction with the District Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director and respective principal. GENERAL: 1. The success of athletic programs has a strong influence on the community's image of the entire system. The public exposure is a considerable responsibility and community/parent pressure for winning performance is taxing, but must not override the objectives of good sportsmanship and good mental health. 2. The position includes other unusual aspect such as extended time, risk injury factor and due process predicaments. 3. It is the express intent of this job description to give sufficient guidance to function. In cases not specifically covered, it shall be assumed that a coach shall exercise common sense and good judgment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Paradise Schools school board and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports program. 2. Has knowledge of CAA, Greathearts or AIA bylaws; interprets and implements them consistently. 3. Understands the administrative chain of communication and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance. Student Support Services/Cubs Connection Aide TITLE: CUBS CONNECTION AIDE JOB GOALS: Under the direction of Cubs Connection Co-Directors provide supervision and support to students in the aftercare program. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide adequate supervision of students. Other duties as assigned by the Directors. Hours Monday-Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm (end time could vary by day) Will need IVP fingerprint clearance card, first aid and CPR TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly part time, work year to be established annually. EVALUATION: At least annually by Cubs Connection Directors. SALARY: $18.00 per hour
