Maintains a safe, orderly, and pleasant environment on the bus and displays a positive attitude toward the children. Completes a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the bus daily, and reports any deficiencies or needed repairs to the Maintenance Technician. Also, reports to the Maintenance Technician when scheduled maintenance is due. Cleans the interior of the bus after each trip, or as needed. Assists in maintaining a clean exterior of the bus, as needed, to facilitate proper driver visibility while driving. Works with parents regarding disciplinary problems on the bus, completes bus conduct reports when repeated behavior problems arise or serious violations of the rules have occurred. Attends driver meetings when called. Maintains a current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. Have the ability to assist passengers in the evacuation of the school bus, operate all safety equipment and bus safety features, and have sufficient physical capacity to render assistance to passengers in case of illness or injury.
