Job Description
Under general supervision, provides primary healthcare and performs approved medical services under the direction of a physician in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Pender Community Hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs health screening of patients within the scope of medical ability.

Instructs and counsels patients regarding physical and mental health on matters such as diets, disease, therapy, normal growth and development.
Maintains awareness of community services, agencies, resources and health facilities.
Assists the supervising physician in the hospital setting (where allowed) in providing patient care inclusive of, but not limited to.
Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status that reflect nursing interventions, patient responses, patient teaching and status of outcomes at discharge.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, nursing plan of care, patient satisfactions needs and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes.
Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
Participate in activities to support quality patient care at all locations.
Performs other duties as assigned
Hours: Nighttime ER, Daytime ER (rotating weeks) and clinic coverage.
Education and/or Experience
Experience as a general Advanced Practice Provider in emergency room or primary care setting preferred
Effective knowledge and familiarity with word processing, computer navigation, and e-mail
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
National certification and current license in state to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains the equipment in peak working condition to save on utility, repairs and maintenance costs.
Assist in record keeping and preventative maintenance of all facilities systems.
Reports malfunctions or loss to supervisor immediately.
Completes documentation and paperwork as required to demonstrate effectiveness and assists with Quality Assurance Reports.
Assists in record keeping and performance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, emergency power, and other testing.
Plants seedlings, spreads fertilizers, pesticides, and related chemicals on lawns and flower beds.
Waters grass and flowers according to dryness by setting up sprinkler systems.
Rakes, collects and disposes of leaves when necessary.
Assists in monitoring all exterior grounds daily to pick up debris on sidewalks and grounds including picking up and dispose of all debris preventing slips or falls, or calls supervisor and/or other maintenance staff, if unable to deal with alone.
Picks up trash containers/boxes, etc and transports to terminal areas. Along with transporting red box/biohazard material to shed.
Spreads sand and/or salt on walkways and driveways during winter months which includes planning and executing snow removal and deicing from walkways/driveways/helipad in a timely manner.
Maintains, cleans, waxes and buffs the floors as needed.
Conducts painting in facilities as needed.
Removes used supplies, materials and equipment from work site.
Maintains clean mechanical rooms, roofs, storage areas and shops along with upkeep on tools and equipment in maintaining good condition and proper working order.
Schedules routine maintenance for oil change and/or other vehicle repairs as needed including maintaining records for miles driven and designate to specific departments.
Prioritizes all tasks, such as work orders, verbal and written requests, etc. using time efficiently.
Communicates with manager on items that need attention in regard to repairs, replacement, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to safely operate industrial and all grounds keeping equipment
Ability to read, analyze, and correctly interpret manufacturer's specifications for the proper operation and preventive maintenance of equipment
Must possess well-rounded knowledge of all areas of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, floor care, computer use, etc

Valid Driver's License

Performs all responsibilities related to performing a sleep study in an accurate and timely manner.
Observes the response of the patients to therapy, evaluates and records in the patients record. Immediately reports adverse reactions following established mechanisms.
Maintains accurate, pertinent, accessible, confidential, and secure patient records in accordance with privacy and security standards.
Applies principles of motivational teaching to facilitate patient self-management.
Provides patient education for sleep disorders, comorbidities, therapeutic equipment and processes, medical therapy options, sleep hygiene and self-help.
Assists with patient acclimation to PAP, proper usage of PAP, interface troubleshooting, pressure relief options, cleaning, and safety education.
Assures patient records contain documentation of all patient interactions.
Communicates effectively and professionally with the patient's healthcare team regarding new or continued symptoms, treatment concerns or management of optimal care.
Demonstrates familiarity with pathophysiology, epidemiology, and clinical guidelines for sleep disorders and treatment options
Demonstrates competence and provide for the cleaning, sterilization, assembly and maintenance of equipment and stocking of supplies in the sleep lab.
Hours: Varies, as needed; Monday-Friday 7:00pm-7:30am
Education, Experience:
Associate degree
Minimum of two years' experience in sleep technology
Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications, and hazards involved in sleep care and knowledge of life support equipment.
Demonstrates proficient use of medical terminology.
Excellent customer service skills and critical thinking experience
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep
Technologist (RST) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
