Penguin Point company history timeline
The modern-day corporation was formed by the two brothers in June 1961 and now operates 13 restaurants in northern Indiana, a catering company, and a restaurant equipment company.
Indiana Restaurant Equipment Corporation was acquired in 1964 and is primarily engaged in engineering, design, and installation of institutional kitchens for schools, hospitals, jails, and nursing homes.
BLACK TIE CATERING was started in 1968 to provide in-house feeding for special events at factories.
Two more penguin chicks hatched in November 2014 at Busch Gardens.
By Thanksgiving of 2014, when Christmas Town opened for the season, the seven penguins were on display in their new home, Penguin Point.
As of October 2015, there were a total of nine African penguins in the habitat.
New signs for Penguin Point were installed in March 2016 and included information about African Penguins, where they are found in the wild, and promotion of the Penguin Insider Tour.
In September 2018, several chicks were born.
