Principal Trainer Position Summary
The Principal Trainer (PT) provides expertise (as demonstrated by obtaining EMR application-specific certification) in the development and execution of Epic training for all applications used within Peninsula Regional Health Systems. These applications include, but are not limited to, HIM/Identity, Cupid, Clinical Documentation, Stork, Beaker, SBO/HB/PB, Cadence, ASAP, Willow, Radiant, OpTime and Anesthesia, EpicCare Ambulatory, Beacon, Orders, Provider Training, and Grand Central/Prelude. A PT is a member of the EMR team who is responsible for the assessment of end-user training needs and the planning, building, and maintenance of training environments specific to that application's workflows. PTs will work with Application Analysts, Epic Application Coordinators (ACs) and Application Managers (AMs) to develop, support and maintain all training curriculums, materials, and training classrooms for initial and on-going Epic training, including new project development. PTs develop competency assessments for all EMR training and are responsible for conducting/overseeing training, post-class assessments, record keeping and communication of end-user completion of EMR training. PTs will respond to training issues or needs when identified by end-users. PT training may be classroom based and/or unit/department based, and includes one-on-one training, remedial training, and on-call training support to assist end-users' (staff, providers, students, etc.) in the use of EMR documentation. PTs may also be involved in train-the-trainer efforts by assisting other users to become Credentialed Trainers who are then able to train Epic using the PT developed curriculum and tools.

Performs duties related to the timely and accurate adjudication of PACE participant medical claims while maintaining advanced knowledge of coding and billing rules. Supports the PACE Claims Specialist I in providing industry leading customer service to PACE vendors. Performs customer service activities including, but not limited to, support and education to vendors during onboarding phase of partnership, communicating claim statuses to vendors, investigating vendor inquiries, and gathering information related to vendor claim appeals.
Assists with maintaining the vendor and provider network within the claims adjudication software. Builds and modifies vendor profiles as program's vendor network changes. Ensures accuracy of vendor profiles in relation to reimbursement structure in vendor contracts, provider lists, W-9s, etc. Verifies updates to Medicare and Medicaid rates and codes are accurately reflected in claim adjudication software.
Performs monthly EDPS reporting and error clearance. This includes, but is not limited to, reporting to regulatory agencies, clearing errors for resubmission of codes, and monthly auditing of EDPS return/output data. Generates detailed claim performance reports, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.
Collaborates with PACE intake and eligibility team members to maintain accurate participant eligibility record in claim adjudication software, driving accurate and compliant claim payments.
Supports the PACE Claims Operations Manager in tracking vendor 1099s and gathering claims data for reinsurance reporting. Works closely with finance to aid in the facilitation of timely and accurate claim payments to vendors. Monitors aging reports to escalate and expedite necessary claim payments. Assists with monthly financial reporting to ensure accurate recordation of financial data.
Works closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, compliance, and clinical teams, to facilitate claims processing workflows. Partners with external stakeholders, such as CMS or third-party vendors, to ensure seamless claims operations.
Trains and mentors PACE Claims Specialist I team members to enhance their understanding of claims adjudication and regulatory requirements. Acts as a resource for troubleshooting technical or procedural issues.
Develops and refines workflows to improve the efficiency of the claims processing team. Assists in the implementation of technology solutions to enhance claims processing reporting capabilities. Innovates workflows to drive automation in claim processing. Monitors claims workflows for bottlenecks and provides recommendations for improvements to PACE Claims Operations Manager.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Lead and direct a team supporting coding and CDI software solutions, workflows, change management.
Direct and oversee the planning, selection, development, implementation, and on-going maintenance of the application solutions.
Create and execute a road map for deliverables based on requirements, projects, and support functions.
Collaborate with CDI, coding, information services, HIM division application solution teams to ensure optimal use of installed technology, identification of future needs, assistance with system updates and testing, prioritizing changes, and implementation of new technology.
Oversee internal systems/applications/workflow process development to ensure efficiency and compliance while driving standardization in the use of the software applications and workflows.
Serve on projects impacting coding and CDI to ensure that their needs and principles are applied to projects for compliance, sustainability, and optimal performance.
Oversee operational change management as result of new or change to Franciscan business, regulatory requirements, coworker feedback, technology enhancements, customer needs, workflow optimization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree Health Information management, healthcare, informatics, information technology or related field - Required
Master's Degree Health Information management, healthcare, informatics, information technology - Preferred
7 years Previous management, leadership, or support position experience in Health Information Management (HIM), or clinical documentation integrity (CDI), or hospital coding, or physician office coding, or informatics, or information systems or revenue cycle. - Required

Diabetes Education Dietitian Position Summary
Plans and provides outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy for children, adolescents, and adults with diabetes and/or other health conditions. Provides Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support to inpatients and outpatients in both group and individual settings. Works with the Nutrition and Diabetes Education Coordinator and diabetes care and education specialists including nurses and dietitians on the team to maintain ADA recognition status. Plans and conducts education for staff and public via in-services, presentations, health fairs and diabetes support groups. This position provides opportunity to fulfill requirements to become a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.
