Assists individuals in developing natural supports to increase their success in community integration and community inclusion, including but not limited to the use of public transportation, linkage to education opportunities, employment, housing of the persons choosing, recreation, leisure, religion/ spirituality, parenting, etc. Supports, models, and teaches recovery principles and tools. Models' personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and hopefulness via telling of their recovery story, how needs are respectfully met, and how a belief in themselves is sustained. Requirements Peer Specialist Certification, High School Diploma or equivalent. A valid Pennsylvania Driver's license with clean driving record is required. IBHS, formally known as BHRS, provides interventions and supports for children, youth, or young adults under the age of 21 with mental health, emotional, or behavioral needs. Job Responsibilities: Provide 1-to-1 support to the child, parent, and/or caregiver to address the therapeutic needs of the child, youth, or young adult using behavioral interventions and strategies as instructed by a Behavioral Consultant (BC) in the home, school, and community settings. Support problem-solving and skill development of the child, youth, or young adult. Instruct children on how to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations. Support the development of improved decision-making skills to manage behavior. Assist with the development of social skills and socially acceptable behaviors. Instruct on stress reduction techniques.
