Clean laundry rooms to include washers and dryers, sinks, and counters. Clean Police guard areas. Clean apartments at the end of each semester or when vacated. Strip and refinish floors and maintain all types of floor surfaces. Sweep stairs and stairwells and wash same. Remove ice and snow from stairs, entrances, and walks. Wash walls, window ledges, woodwork, furnishings; remove graffiti. Replace light bulbs and tubes; clean light fixtures. Keep area stocked with cleaning supplies; submit supply and repair requisitions to Supervisor. Check exterior areas for trash, broken glass, etc., and clean up as necessary. Keep housekeeping equipment clean and perform minor repairs on same. Respond to calls requesting clean up as needed. When leaving buildings, responsible for seeing that buildings are properly secured. Perform minor repairs of housekeeping equipment. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES May direct activities of work study students. Set up areas for special events as requested. Function as an attendant at special College events. Physical Standards and Special Job Features Exposure to dust and harsh chemicals in performing duties. Lifting of 65 lbs. maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs. May require travel between buildings during shift.     Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a talented and dynamic Adjunct Instructor to join our team of faculty who are committed to student success. Adjunct Instructor who subscribes to the notion of meeting students where they are, DCCC has a place for you! The College is seeking experienced craftsmen and technicians to teach a variety of classes in the welding trades. Successful candidates will be required to teaching morning are required to teach both lecture (theory) and lab (practical applications) classes in the following: * Introduction to welding * Print reading for fabricators * OXY-Fuel Welding * Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) * Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) * Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) The successful candidate will: * have a minimum of five (5) years of on-the-job experience as a welder or metal fabricator Required * have prior formal teaching experience at the secondary and/or post-secondary level Preferred * have * high school diploma, technical/trade school and/or approved apprenticeship certificate Required * Associate Degree Preferred * have current industry certifications (include but not limited to) Preferred * AWS CWI * CWE * be able to demonstrate competencies in: * Blueprint reading * Soldering and brazing * Thermal cutting * Oxy-acetylene welding * Shielded metal arc welding * Gas metal arc welding * Gas tungsten arc welding Background Clearances: Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background History, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance); Verification of educational credentials For immediate consideration, interested candidates can apply online at *************************************** In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
