PHS was founded in 1827.

1829

Brief history of Philadelphia Flower Show from its beginnings in 1829 through 20th Century.

Since its first public exhibition in 1829, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has introduced beautiful new plants, inspiring design concepts, and innovative environmental practices to the American public at its annual show.

1921

FDR Park, opened in 1921, is a magnificent landscape designated a Historic District by the Philadelphia Historical Commission.

1975

PHS was involved with the ceremonial planting of the 'Moon Tree' in Washington Square in 1975.
