Position Summary
Reliable and detail-oriented office Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will ensure that office spaces, common areas and restrooms are kept tidy and hygienic.
Essential Functions
Clean and sanitize office areas, including desks, chairs, workstations, windows and doors.
Sweep, mop and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness and minimize environmental infectious diseases transmission.
Comply with OSHA rules and regulations. Use green products that are provided by the Agency to reduce risks, use appropriate tools and equipment during daily work routine.
Complete online trainings as assigned by the Agency. Create inventory of supplies and logout sheets. Fill out janitorial checklists at the end of each shift. Lock doors at the end of each shift.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Follow safety rules and precautions.
Empty trash bins and replace liners as needed.
Break up boxes and properly dispose of them.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring supplies are stocked.
Maintain kitchen and breakroom areas, including cleaning countertops, sinks and appliances.
Collaborate with other employees and facility teams as need it.
Clean side walk and facility entrances as need it.
Refill hand soaps, paper towels and other necessary supplies.
Put out extra cleaning material on Friday in preparation for the weekend.
Report any maintenance issues or shortages of cleaning supplies to supervisor.
Minor repairs, as needed.
Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a hygienic workspace.
During a declared disaster, assume and adhere to assigned Job Action role(s) consistent with Disaster Preparedness Plan.
Be able to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Day Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our clients throughout the day. Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and in good working order.
Respond promptly to client requests and address any immediate cleaning needs.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness of common areas, such as lobbies, hallways, and break rooms.
Restock cleaning supplies and report any inventory needs to the supervisor.
Assist with setting up and breaking down for events and meetings as needed.
Conduct routine inspections to identify areas requiring additional attention.
Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with the supervisor and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning services preferred.

NYPL's neighborhood libraries in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island-many of which date to Andrew Carnegie's visionary philanthropy at the turn of the 20th century-are being transformed into true centers of educational innovation and service, and vital community hubs that provide far more than just free books and materials. NYPL is seeking a Junior Library Custodian to maintain an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable for our Library users and employees.
Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Cleaning Operations Coordinator, the Junior Library Custodian:
Cleans and maintains the Library building and grounds
Buffs, strips and waxes floors
Shampoos carpets
Replaces light bulbs
Handles snow removal
Prepares maintenance reports and maintains inventory of bathroom and cleaning supplies
Takes necessary action to safeguard the building during an emergency and escalates issues to appropriate personnel
Communicates with Library Manager on a regular basis to determine branch needs
Travels between branches within assigned network
Will be assigned to two sites and may be assigned to work at other locations as needed
Required Education, Experience & SkillsRequired Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or GED and prior basic custodial/building superintendent work
Required Skills
Successfully demonstrated experience and knowledge of the standard practices, materials and equipment to be used in commercial building cleaning work.
Knowledge of material safety data sheets, safety practices and procedures
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated flexibility and reliability
Ability to perform manual work consisting of cleaning, heavy lifting, snow removal and working from high ladders, scaffolds and electrical lifts

Valid driver's license and clear driving record
