The FundManager, Alternatives, will play a key role in managing proprietary alternative investment portfolios, including private investments and both liquid and illiquid alternative strategies, such as private equity, private real estate, private credits, hedge funds and other non-traditional asset classes (“Alternatives”). This role will assist senior leadership in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring alternative investment managers and strategies, while ensuring adherence to investment guidelines and objectives. This position also involves supporting strategic initiatives, managing projects, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
Essential Functions for this role include:
Research, source and conduct due diligence on external investment managers to help construct an Alternatives investment portfolio in accordance with the funds' investment guidelines and risk-adjusted return objectives.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on alternative investment funds and strategies. Through periodic comprehensive reviews of the existing investment portfolio and provide recommendations for improvement and optimization.
Perform due diligence on existing and prospective managers across private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge funds, and other alternative asset classes, including onsite visits and conference attendance.
Monitor adherence to investment guidelines and maintain strong relationships with asset managers.
Assist in managing cash flows, capital calls, and rebalancing within alternative portfolios.
Stay informed on market trends, economic developments, and alternative investment strategies.
Prepare and present routine and ad hoc reports on portfolio performance, manager updates, and market insights for internal committees, regulatory filings, and client communications.
Monitor existing portfolio, including frequent interactions with investment managers, review of quarterly reports, as well as attending annual meetings. Prepare quarterly performance reporting package.
Maintain and strengthen the group's networks and relationships with institutional managers and institutional investors in the Alternatives space.
Work closely with the Managing Director to review and provide recommendations for the Alternatives strategy, including the review of appropriate asset class goals and objectives, asset allocation, cash flow forecasting, as well as long-term growth strategies.

Ensure all leaves (PTO, paid sick leave, etc.) are processed and approved in the HRIS system in a timely manner. Review employee accommodation requests and partner with the People & Talent team to make recommendations.
In partnership with the plan sponsor and provider, own the day-to-day administration of the company's 401k plan, including employee enrollments, plan communications, contribution processing and reconciliations, and annual compliance, testing and audit procedures ensuring regulatory compliance.
Administer, create, promote, facilitate and support wellness campaigns, programs and challenges in partnership with the People Experience team.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and regulatory standards & laws as well as Internal Controls and procedures governing the benefit program. Prepares, reviews and files required health and welfare regulatory documents, including but not limited to Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports, ACA reporting and other federal and state mandated filings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL and applicable regulations. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
Administer workers' compensation and assist employees with filing claims. Responsible for the annual workers compensation audit and policy renewal processes.
Prepare monthly benefit reconciliation analyzing and researching benefit billing, employee deduction and enrollment discrepancies. Identify opportunities for automation of current workflows and independently perform regular integrity audits of manual processes, conducting periodic audits to ensure data integrity across vendor enrollment, HRIS and billing platforms. Partner with Payroll Manager to ensure benefit file feed processing and employee deduction updates are timely and accurate.
Document all Benefits processes and procedures, including corrective memos regarding internal control failures and compliance risks. Manage the regular and ongoing upkeep of benefit policies, internal job aids and procedure manuals. Responsible for new hire benefits orientation and ensuring all benefits content is up to date
About you
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience and;
