This position will be responsible for all aspects of Cost Estimating and Program Controlling from Advanced Quotes through Program Hand-off for floor production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Key partner to the Advance Quote team and Program Management team Business partner to Program Management team and plant operations on key performance indicators Work with sales, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate response to customers' RFQs Accountable for timely and accurate business case support Tracking financial performance from Cradle to Grave to ensure the business have high visibility at any time during its life prior to plant Hand-off Maintain cost cards, APR's, & cost walks on post-award programs. Calculate cost impact of engineering change requests. Analyze and monitor business cases and provide management teams with financial walks for various level of reviews. Be the go-to-person for specific programs Drive appropriate actions to be taken in a timely manner by promoting financial awareness in the business among all functions Strong engineering or manufacturing sense to challenge continuous improvements in productivity and cost/investment optimization Provide business plan (APR) and analysis for all program capital appropriation request (PAR) Direct the preparation of annual budget and long range plans for the in-charge programs Learn all aspects of Facton. This should include maintaining master files, BOM, costing, investments, setting sell prices, developing APR's, and performing overall sensitivity analysis. Collaborate with plants on capacity, efficiency, cycle times and manning. Coordinate cost reviews with plant management and all key team members. Maintain costing database including raw materials, purchased parts, labor/burden rates, CAPX, tooling, etc. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Auto Industry related majors. 3+ years of experience in costing or product engineering or program controlling. 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing operation. Either Textiles or Automotive. Strong Microsoft Office Skills. Excel, PowerPoint. Power BI would be preferred. Experience with Facton, preferred. Experience with ERP systems. Plex & QAD. Knowledge of master files & part / product structure. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to rapidly assimilate knowledge of processes and systems. About the Position The Repair Planners/Estimators at D&S Automotive lead the team that disassembles vehicles, thoroughly inspects them for damage, and properly documents all damage. Build Lifelong Partnerships: * Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for quotes and specification complianc * Effectively communicate the estimate approach to ALL team members, including the TJ Dyer team members at the project Kick-Off meeting. * Build relationships with TJ Dyer Project Management and Operations to enhance integration of best practices into estimates. * Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors when required. * Assist in negotiation and buy out of hvac and plumbing equipment. Act with Integrity: * Develop thorough knowledge of company estimating software, Autodesk Fabrication ESTmep, estimating spreadsheets, and file structures. * Possess skill set to perform estimating process support for plan/spec, design assist, design build and IPD delivery methods. * Review proposal front end documents, specifications, drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate. * Address discrepancies in the bid documents in a timely manner during the bid process via official RFI, phone call or email to clear up potential scope related issues. * Develop and provide complete, accurate and timely detailed estimates including labor and material costs, general conditions, subcontractors, overhead and profit. Put People First: * When necessary, assist Project Managers with Change Order estimating. * When necessary, assist other estimators with pulling together estimates. Challenge the Ordinary: * Participate in scope review meetings with owners, construction managers, and general contractors to present and validate estimates. * Provide timely constructive feedback to direct supervisor regarding project bid status, risks and concerns. * Review and assess production feedback from hand back meetings to incorporate into future estimates. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering Sciences preferred. * Robust technical orientation. Must be able to adapt to utilization of our estimation software, Autodesk Fabrication ESTmep, and on-screen take-offs. * Minimum of 3 to 5+ years estimation or field experience in Commercial Piping/Plumbing industry. Proficient knowledge of the systems involved. * Must have a positive outlook and personality that allows relationships to be built with equipment manufacturers, material suppliers and sub-contractors. * Must have a strong work ethic and an overall attitude to "get the job done" especially during peak periods.

Finalizes estimate using proper Repair Planning Template. Works with repair team to make sure notations on windshield are correct and complete. Puts together final parts list. Uses Promise Date Caculator to set promise date. Calls customer to review estimate and promise date. Updates customer regularly (with frequency, according to standards determined by management). Participates in and contributes to the regularly scheduled production meetings. Calls customers whose cars will be completed the next day. Schedules with customer. Follow up with technicians after vehicle tear down and make adjustments to estimate if needed. Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports, etc., and provide service to insurance claim re-inspectors. Education and/or Experience Required High school diploma/GED required. Prior customer service experience. Must currently possess or successfully complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment. Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience. Photo-imaging software experience preferred. Required Skills/Abilities Excellent communication skills. Computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft products is preferred.
