The "B" Level Service Technician has the responsibility of understanding and completing routine repairs necessary for the repair of customer vehicles. This individual will perform general repairs and diagnosis with some assistance. These repairs include but are not limited to light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems (starters and alternators) HVAC systems, steering & suspension systems. This individual will have a majority of their manufacture certifications.
Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle
Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order
Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards
Conduct road test to determine work needed and to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary and practical
Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles
Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services
Utilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and management
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technology
Maintain manufacturer (CSI) Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the Asbury specified goal(s) in service for district, regional and national scores
Complete the work, notations and time-keeping necessary to the successful completion of warranty repair orders and the filing of warranty claims
Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees
Take care to ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding all customer vehicles, property and information
ASE certifications heavily preferred
Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred
Previous automotive technician experience required
Must have basic tools
Must have great technical and mechanical skills
Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
Must have a valid driver's license

Qualifications

This position will follow either the three session or five session co-op rotation, rotating every semester between work and school OR an internship, which can be continuous throughout the school year. The students will gain a wide range of manufacturing process knowledge including, engineering, metal stamping, metal treatment, synthetic rubber manufacturing and processing, compression molding and more. We are seeking: (4) four Co-Ops or Interns to work one-on-one with our Manufacturing Engineers; at least (1) one Chemical Engineering Co-Op or Intern to work with our Rubber Engineering Manager; (1) to (3) Co-Ops or Interns to work one-on-one with our Production Supervisors, and (1) one Co-Op or Intern for Quality.
These programs provide a unique opportunity for students to learn, work, and contribute in an industry leading environment while building a valuable reputation with Tenneco. As a co-op or intern student working with Tenneco, you will be an active member on your team, working with full time employees, making contributions to solving real problems.
Possible Responsibilities Include:
* Updating and maintaining drawings/prints.
* Reporting out findings and next steps on assigned projects.
* Developing support tooling/equipment to manufacturing processes.
* Troubleshooting equipment, compiling and analyzing data to drive process improvements.
* Writing work instructions.
* Supporting full time manufacturing engineers.
* Supporting production supervision.
* Supporting rubber engineering manager.
* Researching and pursuing opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement for the plant through the use of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

The Transmission Technician has the responsibility of understanding and completing routine repairs necessary for the repair of customer vehicles. This individual will perform general repairs and diagnosis with some assistance. Responsible for partnering with third party vendors and the service department to complete internal service work on used vehicles prior to entering lot inventory
Prepare and administrator annual forecast and budget for new vehicle department
Administer and monitor factory sponsored programs
Assist and fill in for the New Car Sales Manager when needed
Prior sales consultant and F&I manager experience required
Prior new car sales manager experience a preferred
3-5 years of automotive experience required
Must be able to create and maintain customer relationships
Ability to handle a high volume of business with professionalism
Experience and ability to handle conflict resolution
Advanced computer skills with both Microsoft suite products and dealer management systems
Build relationships with local and national vendors
Must be able to pass pre-employment screens (background & drug screen)

The Service Greeter is the initial contact at the dealership for the arriving service customer. The Service Greeter is tasked with making our customers feel welcome when they arrive to the dealership as well as assisting the customers within the service department.
Greet customers and direct to appropriate dealership representative and, or to the waiting area
Communicate with appropriate dealership staff about customers arrival and needs
Work hand and hand with service department to keep scheduled appointments on track
Move vehicles through the service lane to the shop
Bring vehicles back up to the service lane for customers when work has been completed
Must have a positive and friendly demeanor

The Service Valet/Porter is the initial contact at the dealership for the arriving service customer. The Service Valet is tasked with meeting and greeting customers when they arrive for service, and checking them in for their appointment. It is the Service Lot Attendant's responsibility to move customer's vehicles from the service drive to the shop.
Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtain vehicle information at the customer's vehicle when possible
Assist the Service Advisor in helping customers while maintaining organization in the service drive
Move the customers vehicle following the greeting process as outlined by management in a safe and secure manner
Retain keys according to departmental safeguard procedures
Actively promote effective working relationships with associates and departments in the dealership
