You will make far less as a technician 1, 2, or 3 at Penske compared to all of its competitors.
Lots to work on there, encountered discriminatory behavior from my supervisor
far lower than industry average, look it up. Level 1's make $33/hr. Top level techs at other employers are in the 60-80's.
Salary and learning new things, ability to grow
Very outdated work style, heavy micro managing, most of the jobs could be easily remote. Expected to travel and do business face to face even though MS teams exists now... everything feels like energy spent on tasks that have no effect on your actual job just side projects for management to take to their boss. 55-60 hour work weeks too to top it off. Is it worth it? If you don't have a family maybe.
I get to work with different manufacturers which I have a good relationship with and pay is good as well
Great salary and challenge on a daily basis. Opportunity to grow and move up.
Over worked on a daily basis. Constant micro managing unfortunately occurs in the vehicle supply/ planning floor(this is well known and filling positions takes extremely long) The expectations are mind numbing and on the employee to solve all the company’s problems since the management are in meetings all day. Training you are on your own to teach yourself with the resources that are provided to you. If you are a person who works hard when able to focus this company is not for you, you could be given extra projects daily and be expected to provide reports for managers meetings. Oh and for a company of this magnitude their technology is from of 2005. Overall the company has potential but they are focusing on the wrong areas like making sure employees are in 5 days a week and face to face meetings. Very outdated mindset and business values.
