Pentaflex company history timeline

1972

Pentaflex was founded by the late John C. (Jack) McGregor in Springfield, Ohio in 1972.

1975

Esselte was a much larger firm than Oxford Pendaflex, with 1975 sales of approximately $350 million, compared to an estimated $60 million for the American firm.

1976

The company's comprehensive North American marketing organization was an attractive asset, and, in 1976, the Swedish office supply firm Esselte AB made a lucrative offer for Oxford Pendaflex.

1978

Sales grew in the years after the takeover, reaching close to $75 million by 1978.

1980

Esselte Meto had been formed out of the pricemarking operations of Dymo and that of a 1980 acquisition, Primark.

1981

In 1981, Esselte Pendaflex took over the operation of its parent's United States pricemarking division by integrating with the Esselte subsidiary Esselte Meto.

1993

By 1993, Esselte Pendaflex had a smaller pool of customers than in past years, though the customers on the whole were larger.
