Job DescriptionSnelling is currently hiring an experienced Pipe Fab Machine Operator for the Pipe Fabrication Department of a reputable company located in the Calera area. This is a 2nd shift position, offering a competitive pay rate of $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience. Measuring, threading, and adjusting flange fit and facing the flange on pieces of ductile or steel pipe.
Use of all types of manual machine tools, such as lathes and threaders.
Operating overhead cranes and forklifts to move pipes in and out of machining centers.
Operate pipe cut off saw.
For Lathes - run the cutting tool across the surface of the face of the flange to flush fit the flange onto the pipe
Operator will work with pipe and flanges primarily from 3” to 24” in diameter, and lengths from 6 inches to 18 feet long.
Paint and package finished product.
Qualifications Required of Pipe Fab Machine Operator:
1-3 years of experience in a similar role
High school diploma or GED required
Computer skills
Able to read a tape measure and micrometers
Ability to understand machinery processes
Help and volunteer across a variety of different machines
Positive, hard-working, and effective
