Pepsi Bottling Ventures company history timeline

1999

In 1999 Pepsi Bottling Group purchased operations in St Petersburg from Whitman.

The long-term debt was $3.27 billion at the end of 1999.

2000

These figures improved to $7.98 billion and $229 million, respectively, in 2000.

About 80 percent of PBG's volume in 2000 was sold in the United States.

Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group had 67 production facilities (60 owned) and 320 distribution facilities (258 owned) at the end of 2000 in parts of 41 states, the District of Columbia, eight Canadian provinces, Spain, Greece, and Russia.

2001

A mission statement was developed and after many months of difficult but constructive dialogue, the new Minges Bottling Group, Inc. was formed on January 1, 2001.

2002

In the Summer of 2002, PBV began operation of a state-of-the-art, 290,000 sq. ft. production facility next to our Warehouse in Southeast Raleigh.

2003

In 2003, the Pepsi-Cola trademark turned 100 years old.

2007

In November 2007, PBV acquired L.E. Farrell Pepsi of Burlington, VT. They have a distribution facility in Burlington and service 11 of 14 Vermont counties.

2008

Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2008.

2009

In February 2009, PBV acquired Nagel Beverage Company of Boise and the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Twin Falls, Idaho.

2011

On June 9, 2011 the family lost one of its valued members of management in the unexpected death of Tom Minges.

2012

In July 2012, PBV expanded its operations in Winston-Salem, N.C. with capital investment in a new facility that allows for streamlined operations and vertical integration of production.

2013

In June 2013, a major realignment of PBV’s franchise territories was achieved.

2015

In 2015, PepsiCo celebrated its 50th anniversary as a combined food and beverage company.

2016

In April of 2016, PBV opened a new 200,000 square-foot sales and distribution facility located on 32 acres off highway 49 in the Town of Harrisburg, North Carolina.

2017

Lastly, in November of 2017, PBV opened a new, state-of-the-art, 250,000 square-foot sales and distribution facility in St Pauls, North Carolina.
