Peraton is seeking a Customer Support Specialist (“CSS”) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting consular applications and services globally.
The CSS will be a member of the Service Desk team. A part of the CA Service Center, the Service Desk is the first and central customer service point for all service events related to the CA IT infrastructure environment. Therefore, a primary Service Desk objective is to provide superior and professional customer service and Tier I support to the CA/CST internal user community. Service Desk team members work closely with CAEIO colleagues, DOS leadership, and other stakeholders to monitor Service Desk shift performance, provide incident intake processing oversight, and ensure timely incident escalation.
Responsibilities
Provide remote troubleshooting support for proprietary software, desktop, network, and mobile device issues (incidents), and customer requests (for example, password resets) via multiple support channels (phone, email, chat, and ticket queue).
Make outbound service calls to customers (returning voicemails, providing status updates/follow-up, gathering more information).
Resolve issues using Knowledgebase articles. Contribute to new Knowledgebase articles by providing documentation for new solutions to issues.
Comply with all government policies, procedures, and timelines for ticket escalation and resolution to ensure the program meets SLAs/SLOs.
Attend Shift Turnover meetings at the beginning and end of each shift, providing ticket data for the end-of-shift meeting.
Maintain communication with the government customer and other support team members.
Disseminate policy and SOP changes to shift team members.
Monitor the ticketing system (ServiceNow) dashboards to track tickets pending assignment, impact assessment, a response back to the caller, and aged tickets pending updates.
Draft and send scheduled deliverables at the end of the shift.
Be familiar with all Service Desk roles and responsibilities to back up colleagues when necessary.
Demonstrate flexibility and eagerness to take on challenges by performing tasks not listed above.

The individual must complete a 12-week New Hire Training Program, which is held Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM in Sterling, VA. With manager approval, the individual can work remotely the other day(s). The number of days the individual works onsite is subject to change based on government/program requirements (for example, surge support might require the individual to be in the office five days per week).

Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Computer Systems Analyst to join our team in Brook Park, Ohio in support of the NASA Glenn Engineering and Research Support (GEARS) Contract team to support a research and engineering application support infrastructure. Peraton provides over 100 research and engineering applications and an accompanying IT support environment at their facility and contract station.
The selected candidate will work in a dynamic, team-based support environment as a member of our research and engineering application support team to provide the installation, configuration, integration and troubleshooting of COTS research and engineering applications throughout the NASA Glenn Research Center campus. The selected individual will directly support end-users and our NASA customer's organizational specific IT needs.
Responsibilities of the position:
Provides both remote and on-premises installation and support of research and engineering applications on end-user Linux, Windows, and Apple systems.
Installs and documents procedures for research and engineering applications.
Troubleshoots and recommends new and updates to software and computer hardware in office and lab environments.
Records and tracks all work in the team's ticketing system.
Participates in operations and strategic meetings providing input on operational issues
Coordinates with outsourced commodity IT providers.
Provides input and responds to application and system IT Security related issues.
Reports to management on issues and assigned projects.
Recommends and participates in the development of the engineering application environment.
Recommends computer systems specifications and compatibility requirements that fit with IT system architecture standards addressing research and engineering applications.
Recommends and participates in the execution of data management techniques.
Takes on projects and actions as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field and two years of experience, or in lieu of degree high school and six years of relevant experience
Experience with the installation, configuration, integration, and troubleshooting of applications in a hybrid environment
Understanding in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
Skilled in basic desktop/laptop hardware and computer-based network troubleshooting
Knowledge of network and information security (cybersecurity) and how to configure software applications to meet governance requirements
Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Mac OS
Must be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation
Desired Qualifications:

Operating system training and certification
Programming skills
IT security training and certification
Ability to work independently as a self-motivated individual showing both ownership of problems and initiative
