**Summary**

The Maintenance Tech III is an advanced level of technician. Associates in this classification are required to have previous experience and knowledge of the fundamentals of industrial maintenance and systems, which is typically attained through the Maintenance Technician II classification and certification.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Performs highly technically complex tasks, demonstrates a higher degree of independence, and may occasionally make decisions.
* Must be able demonstrate/achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech III proficiency within 10 months of hire.
* Diagnoses and repairs complex machinery, conducts preventive maintenance, and ensures production efficiency.
* Provides Operators with support around machine overall equipment reliability. Collaborates well with production associates and other technicians to solve problems with reliability and urgency.
* May assist in troubleshooting equipment set up and production changeovers.
* Responds to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner. Recognizes and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous mechanical and electrical situations.
* Understands and follows all safety standards and quality protocols to ensure production exceeds the standards. Learns and observe all safety precautions as required by Perdue.
* Utilizes appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatus to minimize and withstand exposure to chemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards.
* Maintains work records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.
* Works all required work schedules.
Minimum Education
* High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.
Experience Requirements
* 5-8 Years experience in Industrial maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and/or Equivalent Military Experience.
* Expert Proficiency in Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electrical, Welding and Rigging.
* Intermediate Proficiency with PLC.
* Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.
* Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
Experience Preferred
* 2-yr Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
* Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.
* Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings. Day travel to nearby locations sometimes required.
* When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
* May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
* May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
* May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing plant.
* May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
* Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

**Summary**
Be responsible for training drivers to load, unload, and deliver dressed poultry, oil, hopper, drayage, and contract backhauls and other inbound and out bound products and materials to plants, customers, and distributors. Driver Trainer needs to be willing to train in both OTR / Regional Short Haul capacities.
**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Train drivers to load, unload, and deliver dressed poultry, meal, refined oil, contract backhauls and other inbound and outbound products and materials to plants, customers, and distributors as assigned
+ Teach drivers how to observe and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements regarding hours of service, logbook, vehicle inspections, load inspections, safety inspections and securing load
+ Train drivers on how to operate a tractor and trailer in a safe manner consistent with all Federal, State and Local laws, regulations, and Company policies
+ Teach drivers on how to conduct pre and post vehicle inspections and complete reports as required by Company policies.
+ Train drivers on how to complete all Company paperwork to include but not limited to pay envelopes, overage, shortage, damaged claims, and trip reports
+ Teach drivers to how to understand and use the telephone, voice response, and satellite system in order to communicate with customers, dispatchers, and supervisory personnel. Perform other task as assigned by supervisor.
+ Participate in continuous safety / leadership training provided by Perdue
+ Brand Ambassador with monitoring drivers' pre-trip / post-trip inspections and supporting company guidelines with enforcing PPE / Dress Code Requirements
+ Support with New Hire Orientation - Facilitation of material for new hire drivers both in classroom and driver settings
+ Ambassador will coach drivers when needed
+ Conduct safety evaluations
+ A trainer will be a safety champion - recognize safety hazards and address them with leadership
+ Success criteria will be based on knowledge of safety information, safety regulations and procedures
+ Ambassador will be a positive influence, mentor, and support to help retain trainees
**Minimum Education**
High school diploma or equivalent
**Experience Requirements**
+ Strong training and mentoring capabilities with excellent communication skills.
+ Possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a minimum of 2 years over the road experience.
+ Risk Safety Score 90 plus points in 90-day time period.

+ OTD Delivery Above 95% in 90-day time period.
