In this role, you can expect to be given challenging assignments throughout the company and take on some of the most complex problems. We'll devote coaching, training, and additional resources to ensure your growth and success. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: * Oversees efficient operations of warehouse and transportation functions, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, delivery, equipment maintenance, security, and safety. * With the Directors of Warehouse and Transportation, develops, implements and monitors standard operating procedure for warehousing and transportation. * Develops, implements, and monitors warehouse and transportation employee productivity/quality action plans in accordance with the standards developed by the operations group. * Determines warehousing and transportation personnel and equipment requirements by evaluating warehouse activities, projected volumes, and product mixes in accordance with productivity standards. * Ensures company, OSHA, and DOT standards for warehousing, distribution, and employee safety are met. * Implements policies and procedures for warehouse and transportation security. * Ensures effective marshaling and integrity of DC inventory. Implements procedures for handling customer returns, vendor returns, and obsolete inventory. Performs periodic physical inventory counts. Performs cycle counts and investigates redlines to keep perpetual inventory system accurate. * With the operations group, identifies requirements and implements training programs for the DC warehouse and transportation employees. * Responsible for selection and hiring of direct reports and associates for warehouse and transportation positions. Directs their activities, evaluates their performance, and approves their merit pay increases. * Meets regularly with OpCo President to discuss planned versus actual profitability, capital expenditures, employee productivity, and other relevant issues. * Supports Risk Management in investigating and monitoring accidents to identify root cause and take corrective actions. Works with Human Resources group to develop division training and incentive programs to improve transportation and safety. * Ensure effective cooperation and communications with other departments. * Performs other related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate should possess: * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, forecasts, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Position Responsibilities: * Oversees Accounting and Finance results for multiple OpCo's within designated area, crossing over multiple States and jurisdictions. Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory via cycle counting and other duties assigned. Cycle counts the warehouse a minimum of four times a year, including all pick and reserve slots for discrepancies and product/packaging integrity issues. Performs quality checks around date sensitive, slow-moving and obsolete items via interaction with Merchandising. Performs recoup function. Research causes of weight variances, receiving/put away/letdown issues, and damaged product in the slots from warehouse moves. Proactively checks First-in First-out (FIFO) items for proper rotation. Confirm reserves are properly recorded and verify the count of each reserve pallet. Verify the put-away and transfer process performed by the day and night personnel. Initiate and document product transfer from the cooler to the freezer. Review standard management reports and research causes of inventory shrink. Coordinate will call orders when scheduled. QUALIFICATIONS Education High school degree or equivalent. Experience 1-year experience preferred. Professional Skills Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of an organization. Must have exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two- way communication. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; managing the company shop and shop personnel for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of the Sysco fleet, ensuring safety and security of the shop and fleet, and providing management and direction to shop staff. The position is also responsible for administrative duties including parts procurement, inventory management, asset tracking and cost control through maintenance systems. RESPONSIBILITIES Manages the daily work and safety of associates engaged in fleet maintenance and repair. Handles labor hours and consumable supplies within budget. Monitors work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed. Administers the proper selection, purchase, and utilization of Company assets in support of the fleet maintenance department. Coordinates required processes and repairs with proper departments as necessary. Ensures the proper scheduling of truck maintenance and repairs; along with compliance of all Company programs, including preventative maintenance and inspection of vehicles, non-scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting, repair, rebuild and overhaul of vehicles. Review fleet maintenance functions and various operational and expense reporting. Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within fleet maintenance. Conducts audit daily to ensure all required documentation is accurately completed (including all work orders, breakdowns, preventative maintenance logs, pre/post-trip inspections, certifications) and that items are installed correctly with a minimum potential for loss. Oversees parts inventory and issues required purchase orders based on anticipated needs. Develops a fleet services budget to include a review of past year income and expenses; adjusts and administers all fleet service purchases including parts, tools and office supplies. Inspects budgets and contracts between third party vendor services to ensure efficient operations. Assures proper licensing of fleet vehicles and annual vehicle/trailer inspections. Stays current with technical manuals, literature and technical advancements of the trade as it pertains to company-owned vehicles. Preserves associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings. Maintains on-going interaction. Keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures. Monitors associate morale. Submits and responds to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement. Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures. Coordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections. Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
