1983

In 1983, Hardy spent $170,000 to purchase an English lord's title and an additional $58.1 million to acquire and renovate Nemacolin, a 550-acre retreat in southeastern Pennsylvania.

1987

Rapid expansion and diversification of products, however, resulted in a drop in earnings from $52 million in 1987 to less than half of that two years later.

1990

In 1990, chief operating officer Jerry Smith joined 84 Lumber.

1991

In 1991, 84 Lumber opened 24 new kitchen design centers, which featured state-of-the-art computer technology for designing kitchens and baths.

In 1991, Hardy turned over 40 percent of the 84 Lumber stock to Maggie.

1992

Hardy Knox took over the company in 1992, and under her leadership, the company hit $1 billion the following year.

In 1992, 84 Lumber launched a new concept entitled 84 Affordable Homes Across America, a line of do-it-yourself homebuilding kits.

In 1992, 84 Lumber opened a new management training center and dormitory in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, and throughout the year store managers and other employees from all over the country attended three-day training sessions.

1993: Maggie Hardy Magerko is named president.

To better reflect the broadening product mix and geographic range of its membership, the Association changed its name again in 1994 to APA – The Engineered Wood Association.

1998: International Sales Division is added.

TimberTown Atlanta opened in April of 2016 and is located right off I-75 in Marietta, GA. The Atlanta facility boasts a 45,000 sq. ft. warehouse and the largest indoor decking display in the south.

2017

In 2017, OHC moved into a larger office and warehouse to better serve its expanding Midwest business.

2020

16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time in the company's 65-year history, 84 Lumber today announced that it has hit a record-breaking $4 billion in annual sales as of November this year.

2021

The company is also moving forward with plans to expand in 2021 to Northern California; Boise, Idaho; Detroit, Michigan; and more.
