Strategic Vision & Leadership
Develop and lead the firm's AI and digital strategy aligned with business goals and design excellence.
Identify opportunities to embed AI into design workflows, project delivery, and client engagement.
Identify related client goals/needs and strategic opportunities
Establish clear success measures to track business, creative, and client impact.
Innovation & Implementation
Pilot and scale AI-powered tools for design, documentation, visualization, simulation, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with Practice Leaders to integrate digital tools into project phases from concept through construction administration.
Explore new revenue opportunities through digital advisory services, data-driven insights, or stand-alone digital offerings.
Change Management & Enablement
Drive cultural adoption of digital practices through training, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration.
Partner with COO, IT, and Practice Leaders on phased rollouts of new tools and methods.
Champion a culture of digital fluency and experimentation across the firm.
Develop training, storytelling, and internal programs to support adoption.
Monitor usage, adoption, and ROI to ensure sustainable impact.
Data, Analytics & Governance
Oversee the Data & Analytics team to support both internal initiatives and client-facing insights.
Establish frameworks for data governance, collection, and visualization that support design decision-making.
Leverage predictive analytics and machine learning to improve project performance, sustainability, and client outcomes.
Ensure ethical and responsible AI use aligned with industry standards and client expectations.
External Engagement & Thought Leadership
Represent NELSON in industry forums, client discussions, and strategic partnerships focused on AI and digital innovation.
Collaborate with Marketing to develop thought leadership content and client-facing narratives on our digital capabilities.
Position NELSON as a leader in applying AI to architecture, interiors, workplace, and brand experience design.
Stay ahead of trends in AI, smart buildings, digital twins, and immersive technologies.
Develop or collaborate on messaging to our clients related to offerings and improvements
Education / Experience:
10+ years in digital transformation, AI strategy, or innovation leadership, preferably within architecture, design, construction, or related industries.
Proven track record building and scaling AI or digital programs in a professional services environment.
Deep understanding of emerging technologies including generative design, digital twins, visualization tools, predictive analytics, and immersive environments.
Experience with change management, training programs, and cultural adoption of new tools.
Strong communication and storytelling skills; ability to inspire both technical and non-technical audiences.
Master's degree in architecture, computer science, design technology, or a related field preferred.

Serve as the primary point of contact and subject-matter expert for corporate governance across all NELSON entities, including drafting and maintaining bylaws, operating agreements, resolutions, and annual business filings.
Lead the entity management program, ensuring accuracy of minute books, share records, and the master corporate structure chart across domestic and international entities.
Drive contract strategy-draft, review, and negotiate service agreements, proposals, and complex client contracts in partnership with legal and business leaders.
Provide strategic counsel on risk mitigation, compliance requirements, and operational best practices across departments.
Partner with internal and external counsel on M&A transactions, due diligence, integration activities, and intellectual property management, including trademark protection and enforcement.
Oversee claims and litigation management processes, ensuring timely coordination, documentation, and resolution.
Manage insurance certificate programs and collaborate with Finance and Operations to maintain appropriate coverage and documentation.
Proactively identify and implement process improvements to streamline legal operations and enhance efficiency.
Mentor junior legal team members and contribute to the development of internal templates, training, and best practices.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Paralegal in corporate, commercial, or in-house legal environments.
Proven experience with industry-standard contract forms (AIA, DBIA, ConsensusDOCS) and strong understanding of contractual risk allocation
Demonstrated success managing multiple high-priority initiatives in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with any combination of the core areas of paralegal focus (Corporate, M+A, Litigation, Operations).
Exceptional judgment, discretion, and communication skills-able to translate complex legal concepts into clear business guidance
Ability to travel occasionally to support business needs
Education / Experience:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field
8+ years of experience as a Paralegal with a law firm or in-house legal team
Paralegal Certificate required
Advanced training or certification in corporate law, contracts, or legal operations preferred
National salary range: $70,000 - $100,000 (compensation factors are based upon years of relevant experience, qualifications/licensure, education, and location.) Follow NELSON standards and guidelines in the preparation of deliverables
Review your own work and make corrections prior completing an assignment
Maintain and archive electronic project files
Provide project administrative back-up (make copies, scanning documents, prepare packages for shipping, etc.) as required
Assist in the programming phases as directed
Assist with the schematic phases as directed (sketching, input of sketches, modification of schematic test fit plans, etc.)
Embrace specific steps to create, develop and promote a diverse workforce and to promote an inclusive environment
Assist in the mapping out construction document requirements
Assist with selection and specification
Create basic details ability to document common architectural systems
Identify code requirements for common architectural systems, life safety, and ADA
