Performance tester job description

Responsibilities

* Design, execute, and report results of performance tests.
* Perform integration testing of software and hardware for DEA classified, and SBU systems.
* Ensure the QA and testing approach references all known vulnerabilities and best practices.
* Conduct and report testing using a repeatable process based on industry best practices.
* Ensure testing is incorporated into the overall effort, including automated testing in the CI/CD pipelines using Agile and DevSecOps practices.
* Maintain testing lab environments for system integration and testing.
* Leverage VMware virtualization to provide production-like DEA classified and SBU test environments for use by engineering, integration, and development teams.
* Provide systems administration and operations support.
* Maintain configuration and performance (uptime) for the Integration and Performance Lab to enable the accurate evaluation, integration, testing, and packaging for deployment.
* Maintain and update the pre-production and test environment, that contains production data, to maintain production environment alignment.
* Test new deployments and system changes in the lab and pre-production test environment prior to deployment to production.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Engineers with assistance from global SRE guild are responsible for operation of systems.
* Ability to reason about performance, security, and process interactions in complex distributed systems.
* Independent and comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous and often multi-directional work environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Minimum 5 years of relevant professional performance testing experience
* A proven track record in performance testing and tuning high-volume systems.
* A good understanding of architectural principles including knowledge of microservices, asynchronous processing and NoSQL databases.
* Expertise in a load testing tool such as Apache JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner or Neo Load.
* An understanding of Continuous Delivery principles and experience with performance testing in an agile environment.
* Experience and knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Data Dog or New Relic.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Culture of excellence and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

* B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
* Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python or Bash
* Experience in building performance testing frameworks from scratch
* Experience with investigating performance issues in a microservices environment
* Experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk or ELK
* Experience in FinTech

As a Senior Technical Consultant you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients. Responsibilities

* Assess and understand business requirements
* Validate business requirements against the implementation through comprehensive testing
* Produce client deliverables such as detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports any other assets described in the SOW
* Ensure deliverables are of the highest quality to promote client satisfaction
* Acting as an Agile tester, flexible to play multiple roles in the team
* Flexibility to learn new technologies as required by project
* Experienced Performance testing lead to help on test strategy and test plan
* Create a detailed Strategy plan understanding the functional and non-functional transactions and document Volumes, users, data needs etc with the team to a presentable manner to stake holders with support from solution architects.
* Coach the already experience testers at client team for performance testing execution and analysis.
* Share knowledge with the team through training, documents, etc

Qualifications

* Extraordinary level of understanding for complex business requirements
* Experience executing and coordinating integration and performance testing.
* Expertise in Load runner and/or Jmeter.
* Understanding of REST APIs.
* Hands on experience in Performance requirement analysis, define test plan, performance test scripts creation an execution, performance testing report generation and results analysis.
* Knowledge on Oracle SQL queries.
* Demonstrates a breadth and/or depth of technical/Industry competence
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Must be flexible to new situations and challenges
* Passion for delivery
* Good time management skills
* Problem solving skills are required
