Our ideal candidate is a Registered Professional Nurse who demonstrates clinical competence and knowledge, facilitates communication, provides emotional support, and alleviates apprehension during the perioperative and post procedure period for patients and families.
Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Keep patient, families, operating room charge nurse and customer service coordinators informed about delays, case cancellations, change of surgical times

Provides ongoing communication to patient's families during patient's time with in surgical services

Communicate and collaborate with other departments. Communicate and collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments in order to coordinate appropriate patient care, as needed

Inform the physicians, managers and clinical coordinators of potential problems as they arise

Champions new initiatives and helps in unit/departmental or hospital wide committees/task forces

Implements appropriate action plans to provide safe, quality, and efficient care.

Assures safety and security of patients, significant others, and staff

Performs ongoing assessment of patients and their significant others' biopsychosocial and learning needs

Assesses and intervenes in critical situations involving patients, staff, and visitors and consults with manager or administrator for guidance as needed
