    Employment Type:Part time Shift:Day ShiftDescription: At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Perioperative Cardiac Nurse (RN) in the Exercise Laboratory supports cardiovascular diagnostic and procedural services by preparing patients, administering moderate sedation, monitoring during procedures, and providing Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care. What You Will Do Provide peri‑procedural nursing care, including patient preparation, education, assessment, and family communication. Administer and monitor moderate sedation and ensure patient safety throughout cardiac procedures. Assist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs) and exercise‑based cardiac stress testing, including intra‑procedure monitoring and post‑procedure recovery. Perform Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care, deliver thorough clinical handoffs, and ensure safe discharge. Minimum Qualifications Required: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Valid RN license in Connecticut. Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiovascular Step‑Down, ICU, PACU, Pre/Post Surgery, Cardiac Medical/Telemetry, or related acute cardiac setting. Note: Training is not available for candidates without this expertise. Preferred: Two or more years of cardiac, perioperative, or critical care experience. Experience with moderate sedation or TEEs strongly encouraged. BLS and ACLS certifications (support available post‑hire). Familiarity with ASPAN standards and peri‑anesthesia nursing practice. Position Highlights and Benefits Part-Time - 24 hours/week - Day Shift Shift Hours: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm On‑Call Requirement: Every 4th weekend, 6:00 am to 10:00 am (Saturday & Sunday) This is an hourly position, included in the RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95. Experience with record management systems to document incident reports in a complete, concise, and proper manner. 3. Experience making arrests and/or transport arrestees when appropriate. 4. Experience providing appropriate medical assistance to the sick and injured by providing first aid and/or alerting medical staff. Education and Experience 1. Must be 21 years of age or older at time of hire. 2. High School Diploma or equivalent. 3. Associate degree in a related field preferred. 4. Possesses a valid Ohio driver's license (and ability to obtain and maintain eligibility of insurability as determined by the CHMCA insurance carrier's requirements to operate CHMCA vehicles) and reliable transportation to report to alternate sites. 5. Possess a current OPOTA Basic Police Academy certification. 6. Required to achieve and maintain department's qualifying firearms standards for duration of employment. 7. Successfully complete a thorough background investigation. 8. Demonstrate psychological fitness commensurate with the role of a police officer, evaluated by a psychologist designated by the Department of Public Safety Director and Chief.
