ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking an experienced Credentialing Compliance Contractor to support Mindspan's credentialing and compliance functions. This individual will manage credentialing, licensing, and compliance processes. The ideal contractor is a self-starter, highly organized, and thrives in an evolving environment where systems are being built and refined.
This is a contractor role - the individual will work independently, set their own schedule, and deliver completed work according to agreed timelines and priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Credentialing
Coordinate and complete credentialing for all new providers across the medical practice (licenses, certifications, professional affiliations) internally and with payer partners.
Enroll prescribing providers in Medicare.
Submit and manage payer enrollment applications with health plans and medical groups to support network expansion.
Licensing
Support providers with new state license applications and manage all renewals.
Track expirations and proactively ensure compliance with all licensing requirements.
Compliance
Conduct monthly exclusion audits and maintain organized, well-documented compliance records.
Communicate updates and maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation for internal stakeholders.
Administration
Manage and maintain accurate records for the addresses of our growing practices.
Support ad hoc operational projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and ownership.

TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT
This is an independent contractor (1099) role, not an employee position.
The expected workload is equivalent to approximately 40 hours per week, depending on project needs. The contractor is responsible for managing their own schedule to meet deliverables and timelines.
Hours and schedule are flexible, provided that agreed-upon deliverables and deadlines are met.

Schedule: As a contractor, you set your own hours. Current demand makes the following days/hours most desirable:
Monday - Friday 9a-9p ET
By the 15th of each month, you'll need to provide your availability for the next two months
You will be expected to provide at least 20 hours of availability weekly

OUR MISSION
Perry Health is on a mission to rethink chronic care delivery through a purely-remote, continuous care model. This remote-first approach allows us to extend high-quality specialist care to all patients, regardless of geography or other care disparities. Although we plan on making Perry available to every patient with a chronic illness, we're starting with a focus on Medicare patients living with diabetes. Perry's remote care fills the necessary gap between physician appointments for our patients.
We equip our patients with cellular-connected devices (glucometers, blood pressure cuffs, etc.) that transmit data passively upon use, allowing even the most tech naive patient to participate. This real-time data flows to Perry's team of clinicians (physicians, nurses, dietitians), who monitor trends in the data and deliver proactive care over the phone. We've built a proprietary continuous-care Electronic Health Record (EHR), which can ingest these data pipelines and build elegant workflows on top of them for our clinical staff. Facing a chronic disease alone is overwhelming and isolating, and we aim to alleviate that emotional burden by providing care to our members 24/7.
Our high-touch approach to chronic care management creates tangible outcomes for our members and thousands of dollars in savings to the system by preventing hospitalizations, and we're just getting started.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced Registered Dietitian who has ample experience helping people with diabetes to better understand and manage their condition and is passionate about changing health. You will be responsible for meeting with members to assess everything from their current health regiment, interpret their blood glucose readings as they relate to meal times and ultimately craft a personalized nutrition program for each member.
You'll join a team of RNs who focus solely on triaging acute blood glucose readings, CDEs who will support your members with medication and insulin interventions and board certified health & wellness coaches who will maintain high-frequency touch points with their members to incorporate your nutritional guidance into the members' SMART goals. Our members benefit from the collective specialities of our clinical team with this role driving medical nutrition therapy. Your day will largely consist of scheduled visits with members but you'll be made available to support any nutrition-related escalations as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide telephone-based care to patients in Perry Health's RPM program
Deliver swift, empathic care to our members and assess their competencies around their nutritional needs
Craft individualized meal plans based on the members' health needs and access
Meet members where they are and educate them compassionately on how to best manage their nutrition
Collaborate with CDCESs and Coaches as needed to reinforce nutrition guidance in weekly touchpoints
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BS Nutrition
License: Valid, unencumbered Indiana state RD license is required. Strong preference for additional license(s).
Certification: CDR, CDCES
Minimum 3+ years experience managing patients with diabetes
Spanish-speaking preferred, certification required

COMPENSATION
Contractors are paid on a monthly basis for both clinical and non-clinical team, see below.
Clinical Pay
Contractor is paid $20.00 per per Clinical Encounter per member per month
A clinical encounter is defined by
a successful monthly call with a member
at least 20 minutes or more of time in the member's chart
A member is defined by
someone who completes at least one call with any provider on their care team within a calendar month
Examples:
If in one hour you called and spoke with 2 patients and spent 30 minutes with each of them, your pay for that hour would be $40.00 ($20.00/pt reached x 2).
If in one hour you spent 40 minutes with one member, your pay for that hour would also be $40.
If in one hour you spent 40 minutes with one member, 20 with another, you would make $60 in that hour
If in one hour you spend 15 minutes with one member and 15 minutes with another, there would not be any time paid unless you spent at least 5 minutes more with that member at a later point in that calendar month.
Non-Clinical Pay
Non-clinical time, including but not limited to required meetings, trainings or the like, will be paid at a flat rate of $30/hr.

What you will do:
Follows established physical therapy plan of care, including physical therapy interventions and patient/caregiver education. Modifies specific treatment procedures in accordance with PT plan of care and Physical Therapy Assistant (“PTA”) scope of practice. Travels to patients' homes and/or other facilities with varying environments (e.g., elevated buildings, walk-ups, care facilities, single/multiple family homes, presence of pets, etc.) using approved transportation options to deliver direct care to the patient.
Assists patients with therapeutic interventions and activities of daily living, which may require positioning, moving, transferring and lifting patients of varying body sizes and physical conditions, with and without assistance and as appropriate, instructing, demonstrating and verifying capabilities of family members and/or paraprofessionals. Job Summary:
Performs neurodiagnostic testing, to include EEG, EP, MEG, TMS, Epilepsy monitoring and Electrocorticography. Assist in nerve conduction testing. Completes all necessary documentation for departmental record, patient procedures, etc. Participates and assists in education and training opportunities.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE CRITERS (% OF TIME)
Essential Functions: The following are essential job accountabilities and performance criteria:
Position Accountabilities
1) Performs standard and complex EEG recordings according to established lab protocol, and guidelines set forth by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) 70%
Criteria
A) Performs EEG recordings, including wake and sleep, nasopharyngeal studies, bedside, electrocerebral inactivity (ECI) evaluations and 24 hour ambulatory EEGs.
B) Summarizes the patient's neurological status and clinical history and completes the documentation needed for physician interpretation, including history sheets, labeling of tracing, etc.
C) Monitors EEG for special studies including WADA (sodium amytal studies), and ictal SPECT studies.
D) Performs long term epilepsy monitoring to evaluate patients with paroxysmal disturbances of cerebral function, electrocorticography and cortical mapping.
E) ) Maintains equipment(to include helium exchange) and supplies for all studies performed.
F) Completes all necessary documentation for departmental record, patient procedures, etc.
G) Participates and assists in education and training opportunities.
2) Completes patient charge forms to insure accurate and timely billing of the procedure and completes all necessary written documentation to insure smooth operation of the department. (2, 5, 6) 10%
Criteria
A) Enters charges daily for procedures performed with no more than 1 error per week.
Enters required patient information into daily log books.
B) Enters information into hospital and department computer equipment for other departmental functions (archiving patient data), service requisitions, etc.
3) Supports all functions, goals and objectives of the department as well as development of any new programs that involve the Neurophysiology Lab and Epilepsy Unit. (2, 4, 5, 6) 5%
Criteria
A) Participate in development of new diagnostic testing procedures to be performed in the department. Participates in the evaluation of new equipment for potential purchase.
B) Educates residents and other medical or technical staff in the technical aspects, indications and limitations of Neurophysiology exams.
C) Enhances professional growth and development through annual participation in educational programs, inservices, workshops, reading current publications on Neurophysiology testing/technology and neurological diseases, on line CME through various professional organizations & manufacturers and viewing videotaped education programs.
4) Safety/Infection Control: Practices according to safety and infection control policies. (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8) 5%
Criteria
A) Practices universal precautions and disposes of hazardous wastes per established guidelines. Disinfects and cleans equipment according to manufacturers guidelines and standards outlined by Infection Control and department policy.
B) Maintains a safe, clean, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families/employees in accordance with hospital standards.

2. Keeps conversations and background noise to a minimum
3. Adheres to dress code.
4. Maintains equipment in clean and proper working condition on a daily basis. Troubleshoots & corrects technical problems as needed. Contacts Clinical Engineering or manufacturer's service department (if under contract) when malfunctions occur.

5) Service: Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner. (1, 3, 5, 6) 3%
Criteria
A) Demonstrates Care and Courtesy to all patients, family members, hospital and medical staff.
Demonstrates an attitude of cooperation and professionalism when communicating with patients, physicians, co-workers and other personnel. Clearly communicates procedures to patients and family members to insure understanding and consent.
B) Communicates effectively and maintains confidentiality as outlined in the hospital policy.
Maintains strict confidentiality in regards to all patient, employee and hospital information.
C) Demonstrates competence and collaboration as outlined in the hospital policy.
Attends department meetings and other meetings as required. Annually attends inservices that support SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital mission and vision.
D) Provides Cost Effective Services: Minimizes overtime by scheduling and performing patient procedures in the most efficient manner (flex time).
Appropriately uses/handles equipment and orders supplies to minimize expenditures on repairs, replacement items and inventory.
E) Attends regularly scheduled hospital and department meetings that support and explain the Mission of St. Louis University Hospital and its operation.
6) Performance Improvement (PI): Incorporates Quality Assessment into one's daily work. (2, 3, 5, 6) 2%
Criteria
A) Assists in the daily collection of data for the department's Performance Improvement Program. (Volume indicators monthly and quality indicators are based upon department operation and requested monitoring by the procedure review committee.)
B) Responsible for the monthly and quarterly data analysis for each indicator in preparation for the quarterly and annual summaries.
7) Age Appropriate Care: Provides age-appropriate care to: 2%

Restraint Care
Initiates/evaluates alternatives to restraint prior to application.
Applies restraints consistent with the approved procedure.
Pain Management
Follows pain management plan of care, e.g.: repositioning, message, immobilization, etc.
Reports patient complaints of pain to the nursing staff and/or physician.
Abuse Assessment
Is aware of abuse recognition criteria and incorporates it into assessments.
Reports signs of possible abuse/neglect to the physician and Risk Management, and recommends appropriate consultations (psychiatric, Social Work) for evaluation.

9) Provides assistance in the day-to-day operation of the Neurophysiology lab. (2, 6) 3%
Criteria
A) Utilizes work order entry in Meditech to report functions which need to be performed by housekeeping or maintenance.
B) Retrieves previously microfilmed reports or videotaped procedures for viewing/printing as requested.
C) Assists in clerical duties as required, including telephone responsibilities, typing of reports, posting/mailing of reports, filing, scheduling, etc.
D) Participates in preparing & performing regular safety and infection control surveys. Reports non-compliant issues to manager and if necessary, safety or infection control director, and takes steps to correct deficiencies.
