Job Summary:
Commodity Merchandiser will be required to learn Gold Star Feed & Grain business as it pertains to the assigned commodity. Merchandiser will be accountable for price discovery, logistics, procurement, and marketing of assigned grains and/or feed products. Merchandiser will have responsibility for market development and assist in accurate P&L generation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Originate and merchandise assigned commodity.
Arbitrage the market capitalizing on freight and product spreads.
Coordinate Logistics for products traded via truck and rail.
Reconcile cash position daily.
Calculate and understand freight variance.
Transact business within established position limits and company policy.
Establish price updates to customers.
Overfills/underfills on grain contracts.
Assist in identifying and developing new market opportunities.
Attend industry events to understand market trends and develop customer relationships.
Coordinate business utilizing established company resources.
Leverage existing nutritionist knowledge and customer relationships as applicable.
Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related business, finance, or agriculture required

Purpose of Position:
